Is OptinMonster worth it? Well, it depends.

If you’re an online business owner who wants more traffic, conversions, and sales…

If you have a great service or product to offer but aren’t a professional developer or designer…

And if you want a reliable, easy-to-use solution that just works every time…

You can benefit from using OptinMonster.

But we know you probably have more specific questions. That’s why we wrote this extensive OptinMonster review to help you decide for yourself. Feel free to jump to what you’d like to learn about first:

By the end of this post, we’ll help you figure out if it lives up to the hype and is worth the price.

What Is OptinMonster?

OptinMonster is the world’s best lead generation software and WordPress plugin on the market. It enhances every part of your marketing strategy from getting more subscribers, growing leads, and increasing your revenue.

OptinMonster-homepage

And with regards to the amount of targeting and triggers our campaigns offer, there’s simply no other platform that compares.

OptinMonster launched back in 2013 with a simple goal: to level the playing field by giving small and medium-sized companies resources that can compete with the big guys.

As a result, we’ve served over 1 million websites ranging from solo entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies.

Some of our most well-known clients have included:

 • Capterra
 • Pinterest
 • ClickBank
 • American Express
 • TripAdvisor
Companies that use OptinMonster

Among others.

But due to our low costs, we make sure that small businesses and eCommerce stores can have access to all the features they need to thrive in their niche.

We do that by making sure our setup is accessible to everyone. Our clients build and customize their campaigns with no coding skills required. That includes adding lead magnets like discounts, coupons, eBooks, and more.

Then they set display rules and triggers to make sure these campaigns are seen by the right people and at the right time.

Our detailed analytics allow users to monitor their campaigns’ success and make adjustments as needed.

Finally, we integrate seamlessly with email service providers to automate your entire email marketing system. These would be ESPs you’re familiar with, like Constant Contact, Brevo, Mailchimp, and many others.

That way, when you get a new signup, that lead will go directly to the mailing list and automated sequences in your ESP.

And if you don’t see the email marketing services you use, you can integrate them using OptinMonster’s webhooks.

Plus, it comes as a convenient WordPress plugin. That means you’ll get access to all of OptinMonster’s features, tools, and campaigns directly from your WordPress dashboard.

As you’ll see, OptinMonster is hands down your best bet if you want to grow your email list, drive more conversions, and make more sales.

Before we can really answer the question, “Is OptinMonster worth it?” we have to ask another even more important question: “Do I need OptinMonster?”

Do I Need OptinMonster?

You definitely need a lead generation tool like OptinMonster if at least 2 of the following statements are true:

 • Getting more pageviews and subscribers would grow your affiliate, product, or ad income. (Bloggers and publishers, we’re looking at you!)
 • Converting more abandoned carts would increase your revenue. (This is you, eCommerce folks!)
 • Email marketing is a main source of leads and revenue for your business.
 • Your marketing and sales funnels work fine but could be better.
 • You want to create a great user experience for your site visitors.
 • You need to save time and energy in your marketing and stop guessing about what’s working and what to do next.

If this sounds like you, then you need to try OptinMonster!

Still on the fence? Let’s take a look at a few benefits of OptinMonster that make it stand out from the competition.

OptinMonster Review: The Top 5 Benefits

Since there are so many awesome features of OptinMonster, it’s easiest to break things down into the top 5 benefits of using our software.

OptinMonster gives you:

 1. Multiple campaign options
 2. Easy campaign customization
 3. Precise targeting and trigger settings
 4. Detailed analytic reports
 5. Proven results

We’ll start by going over our campaign types.

1. OptinMonster Offers the Most Campaign Types

OptinMonster lets you build 9 types of campaigns:

Campaign Types with OptinMonster
 • Lightbox Popup
 • Fullscreen Welcome Mat
 • Slide-in Scroll Box
 • Floating Bar
 • Countdown Timers
 • Sidebar Forms
 • Inline Forms
 • Content Lockers
 • Coupon Wheel Optins

Each of these campaign types is designed to increase your conversion rates. In a few moments, we’ll talk about the effectiveness of these campaigns in more detail.

For now, it’s important to understand the variety of campaigns we offer. Many of our competitors are limited to 5 or 6 campaigns, which means you need supplemental software to create the others.

For example, a lot of software that gives you a general popup campaign won’t include a Content Locker or Inline Form.

That’s problematic for many small businesses who need all the help they can get converting general traffic into email subscribers.

Like how Whole Whale was able to use a Content Locker campaign to double their email sign-ups and increase conversions by 62%. Here’s a glimpse of how they obfuscated their locked content to increase email subscribers:

Whole Whale Obscured Content Locker

The point is that when it comes to the variety of campaigns you can build, OptinMonster provides the most options.

But none of that matters unless it’s easy to create and customize the campaigns themselves. Fortunately, with OptinMonster, this couldn’t be more simple.

2. OptinMonster Makes Campaigns Easy to Customize

As we said earlier, it’s been our goal at OptinMonster to make our tools accessible to marketers or business owners in small and medium-sized companies.

Reaching that goal meant creating a campaign editor that didn’t require our clients to have a team of developers.

What we ended up with went a step further regarding ease of use.

Because with our drag and drop builder, you don’t need a team of developers. In fact, you don’t need any coding skills or knowledge at all!

We made sure that our campaigns could be tailored to fit with any brand and any voice in a matter of minutes.

We did that by creating over 700+ pre-built templates that our users can pull from to match different marketing goals:

OptinMonster Templates

These templates can be filtered in a variety of ways including by Device:

Filter by Device

By Goals:

Filter by goals

Or by Category:

Filter by categories

But if you do want a campaign that’s 100% original to your business, we give you that option too. With our Canvas template, you can build any kind of campaign from scratch, so it’s fine-tuned to your needs:

From there, you can change every aspect of your campaign by dragging and dropping new elements into place:

The elements you can add to your campaigns include:

 • Columns
 • Text
 • Chatbot
 • Custom HTML
 • Images
 • Buttons
 • Video
 • Countdown timers
 • Icons
 • Optin fields
 • Yes/No options
Element Block Options

And more.

Plus, you can click on any part of your campaign to pull up the editing tools on the left-hand side:

Pull up your editing tools in the side by clicking an element in your editor

You can edit a campaign’s:

 • Text
 • Font
 • Background colors
 • Images
 • Buttons

And any other aspect of your design that you want to be personalized to your brand.

In other words, if you have an idea for an optin campaign, OptinMonster lets you build it quickly, easily, and exactly aligned with your vision.

And if you DO have more technical skills, OptinMonster allows you to use custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This gives you 100% control over the look and functionality of your campaigns at all times.

It also lets you sync your campaigns to other marketing tools for better tracking, such as integrating a campaign with Google Analytics to track unique conversion goals.

Check out this helpful resource to learn how to create a campaign with OptinMonster.

Now let’s turn our attention to OptinMonster’s targeting options.

3. OptinMonster Offers Precise Targeting Settings

The only way to get the most out of your new campaigns is if you show them to the right people at the right time. So if you want to know “is OptinMonster worth it,” then targeting is definitely a factor.

More than any other software on the market, OptinMonster allows you to target and segment your audience.

This is the key to getting more conversions.

We accomplish this in 2 ways:

 • Targeting conditions
 • Triggers

Let’s start by looking at our targeting settings.

OptinMonster Campaign Targeting

When traffic comes to your website, they’re likely to land on different pages and at different times of the year. Plus, each visitor on your site is unique and will respond differently to certain messages.

To get the best conversion rates, you need to adapt your optimization strategy to personalize the user experience. And you do that through creating targeted campaigns.

At OptinMonster, we give you the ability to use the following targeting rules:

 • Page-Level Targeting
 • Referrer Detection
 • OnSite Follow-up Campaigns®
 • OnSite Retargeting®
 • Geo-Location Targeting
 • Cookie Retargeting
 • Device-Based Targeting
 • AdBlock Detection
 • And many more!Trigger targets with OptinMonster

Each of these targeting rules lets you display your campaigns at just the right moment in your customers’ journey.

As a result, you’ll see conversion rates soar.

You can show campaigns to match content on specific pages of your site. Or show regional campaigns to attract local customers for in-store products.

You can target traffic based on whether they’re browsing your site via desktop, tablet, or mobile. Or you can customize your campaigns while taking into account which 3rd party site your user is coming from.

But one of the most powerful targeting rules that we have is AdBlock Detection. That’s because over 616 million devices use AdBlock or similar software to prevent your campaigns from appearing.

So we created, tested, and perfected a solution.

By creating a campaign that politely asks users to turn off their adblock software, around 77% of people disabled it and allowed optin campaigns to appear.

adblock detection campaign

This targeting feature alone can do wonders for your conversion rates by showing campaigns that would have otherwise been blocked.

Plus, we’re one of the only companies on the market that offer this level of targeting service.

And even though we’ve only scratched the surface of how you can target campaigns to specific users, let’s switch gears and look at a few of our campaign triggers.

OptinMonster Campaign Triggers

At OptinMonster, we help our clients trigger their campaigns based on user behavior. This allows you to personalize your customers’ experience and show them your optin forms when (and where) they’ll be most persuasive.

Our triggers include:

 • Exit-Intent® Technology (for both desktop and mobile)
 • Scroll Triggers
 • Shareable MonsterLinks™
 • Inactivity Sensor™
 • Time Display Control
 • Campaign Scheduling
 • and many more!

These triggers take into account your users’ behavior. They show certain campaigns based on your traffic’s interaction with your site.

Our exit-intent popups, for example, appear as users are actively leaving your website. This is crucial technology for your site conversions because over 70% of people who have chosen to leave your site never come back.

Exit Intent GIF from OptinMonster

But you can engage potential leads at this moment in their customer journey. In other words, exit-intent campaigns let you turn exiting users into lifelong customers.

All of our triggers let your users’ behavior determine when they’ll see a campaign. If they show particular interest in a page by scrolling down a certain percentage, you can give them a special offer related to the content.

Or if they click one of our MonsterLinks™ in your emails or site content, they’ll be taken directly to one of your enticing campaigns.

Finally, there are custom targeting rules for eCommerce platforms like WooCommerce, Shopify, and BigCommerce.

These targets and triggers let you INSTANTLY boost sales from your online store.

After you define the display rules for your campaign, you can also apply MonsterEffects to it. These are animation effects that are applied to the popup, slide-in, or other campaign types when they are displayed.

When you use OptinMonster, you have an endless combination of targeting and trigger options to choose from. This can help you:

 • Grow your mailing list
 • Reduce cart abandonment
 • Boost engagement on social media
 • Increase webinar registrations
 • Redirect traffic to boost SEO
 • And much more…

Plus, the best part is that we give you the ability to track it all. Which leads us to the next benefit of working with OptinMonster.

4. OptinMonster Gives You Detailed Analytics Reports

There’s only one way to make sure you’re getting the highest conversion rates: tracking the results.

OptinMonster makes this easy. In your dashboard, you immediately see 4 metrics for each of your campaigns:

 • Visitors: how many people have seen that campaign
 • Conversions: how many people have converted that campaign (such as subscribing or clicking)
 • Conversion rate percentage
 • Revenue attribution: how much revenue that campaign brought in directly or as part of a group of campaigns the customer converted before buying

You can also click on a campaign’s analytics icon to get even more information about its performance.

This pulls up a detailed account of how visitors are interacting within the period of time you want to know about.

But what do you do if a campaign isn’t performing as well as you’d hoped? With OptinMonster, we help you A/B split test your campaigns so you can make better, data-driven decisions moving forward.

With just a click, you can create an A/B test of any campaign you think could be doing better:

Create Split test from your optinmonster dashboard

Then you can change any element of the campaign like a header or image, and let the test run for as long as you like.

When the results are in, you’ll know which campaign is getting you more leads. With that knowledge, you can optimize your conversion rates.

And this is just one of the many reasons OptinMonster has gotten massive results for our clients.

5. OptinMonster Is Proven to Get Results

So far, we’ve covered many of the great features OptinMonster has to offer. But the real question that users want to know is, “Do they get results?”

We already mentioned that OptinMonster is used on over 1,000,000 websites, but here are a few specific examples of the kinds of success our customers have found with us:

Read more about these and similar success stories on our case studies page.

But these represent our best clients, right? What do every day, regular users think about OptinMonster?

We checked some online review sites around the web and thought we’d share what people are saying about us.

Here’s a response found in the comments section of a blog that reviewed our software:

Screenshot: A blog comment that reads, "One of the best list building plugins. Five stars. I have tried a ton of list building plugins and nothing comes close to OptinMonster. The best part about this tool is that it's very easy to use. There are loads of features and different types of opt-in forms that one can create. I have had a great experience using this tool and would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to grow their email list."

Here’s a user review from Capterra:

Screenshot: A user review from Capterra that gives 5/5 star ratings for Oveall Rating, Ease of Use, Customer Service, Features, Value for Money, and 10/10 rating for Likelihood to Recommend.

And another customer from Capterra had this to say about OptinMonster:

Screenshot: A review from Capterra that reads, "A conversion magnet! Overall: I was using OptiMonk for over 2 years and their product, support and pricing was very bad. I switched to OptinMonster and things are now running smoothly and my leads have increase 5X. I would highly recommend this software if you are serious about getting more leads with less headaches."

Finally, here are a couple of short headlines from G2 Reviews:

Screenshot: 5-star Review from G2 reviews that reads: "1+ year customer, fully satisfied. What do you like best? You know when you reach out to customer service and you dread it because you know 90% chance they are wasting your time and you're better off just not using that functionality until you have the time to learn and implement it? Not here. Their customer service is A+, not to mention this product is solid and never, not once given me an issue."
Screenshot: 5 Star review from G2 Reviews that reads: "By far the best and most robust plugin technology for WordPress."

And the list goes on.

The fact is that our clients love us not only because our email optin campaigns are easy to design and have precise trigger settings.

They also love us because our software gets real results that help their business grow.

So we know that it’s effective but, again, the question “is OptinMonster worth it” really translates to “is OptinMonster worth the cost?”

To answer that question, we need to look at OptinMonster’s pricing.

OptinMonster Pricing

You can always visit our pricing page to find the latest OptinMonster pricing.

You’ll see that we offer monthly and annual subscriptions. And you might be wondering why we don’t offer a one-time, lifetime fee like many of our competitors, especially those in the WordPress ecosystem.

The answer is simple: Because we want to be around for a LONG time, and to be able to continue to improve our product for you!

When companies choose a lifetime model, it puts them in a position to have to focus on getting more and more NEW customers, rather than improving the experience for existing users. That’s because once a new user has purchased, they’ll never make that company any more money… they’re not contributing anymore to that company’s ability to continue to grow. So, rather than focus on making a great experience for existing users, the company is forced to spend their time and attention on finding more NEW customers to fund their growth.

Our mission is to help small businesses grow and compete with the big guys. The way we do that is by continuing to build (and improve!) the absolute best lead generation tool on the market. We know that if you’re happy with it and seeing results, you’ll share us with your friends and their friends and their friend’s friends… and well, you get the picture.

OptinMonster FAQs

Is there an OptinMonster WordPress plugin?

Yes! The OptinMonster plugin lets you manage and create your campaigns from within your WordPress dashboard. What are pageviews?

Unlike our competitors, we don’t charge by your WEBSITE pageviews or penalize you for growing your website traffic. Instead, we only charge for your usage of OptinMonster. At OptinMonster, a pageview is registered anytime your visitor sees an OptinMonster campaign.

Does OptinMonster have a free plan?

You can try OptinMonster risk-free for 14 days and get a full refund, no questions asked, if you aren’t satisfied.

Are there OptinMonster coupons?

The post Survey Best Practices: Everything You Need to Know (2025) appeared first on OptinMonster.]]>
You know that old saying, “Knowledge is power?”

Yeah… so it turns out that’s wrong. When it comes to eCommerce, knowledge isn’t power; knowledge is profit.

And that’s exactly why you need to be using customer surveys in your marketing strategy. Surveys allow you to engage with and learn about your audience. The more information you have, the better you can serve your clients and, consequently, increase your overall revenue.

So, today, we’ll be exploring 4 survey best practices to help you create surveys in a way that encourages users to actually take them. More specifically, we’ll look at:

 • What we mean by “survey best practices” and why they matter
 • Four specific survey best practices you need for higher completion rates
 • The best tools for building your survey

What Are Survey Best Practices and Why Do They Matter?

You probably remember taking standardized tests like the SATs back in high school. If you’re like most people, these exams made you develop a natural hate for all things multiple-choice (not to mention how you’ve vowed to never use a No. 2 pencil again).

So it’s no wonder some merchants are wary of using surveys. After all, giving your visitors more test-like paperwork is never a good conversion strategy, right?

surveys aren't tests or paperwork

Right.

But here’s the thing: surveys aren’t tests, or at least they shouldn’t be if made correctly.

What’s the difference?

Tests are made to assess knowledge and contain wrong answers in their responses. Surveys, on the other hand, are an open invitation to join a conversation.

surveys are an invitation

Plus, there are no wrong answers in a survey because you can learn something about your client regardless of which response they choose.

The trick lies in creating a survey that people actually want to take. That’s why you need to master some of the basic skills that go into survey creation. By implementing just a few of these survey best practices, you can increase your completion rate, easily grow your email list, and get way more conversions for your site.

But most of all, with all the data you collect, you’ll have more insight on how to better serve your customers in the future!

So let’s check out four survey best practices when creating a survey.

Survey Best Practices: 4 Tips to Live By

1. Clearly define your goal: The obvious starting point for creating any survey is figuring out specifically what you want to know, emphasis on the term “specifically.” Ask yourself, “What would I like to learn about my customers with this survey and will that knowledge help me in a concrete way?”

Consider this hypothetical goal, for example:

"I want to create a survey to know whether or not visitors enjoy my blog" is a bad goal

At first glance, this seems like it would be a reasonable goal for a survey. But the problem is that there is no response which would help you create a concrete strategy for improvement. If your survey reveals that your visitors love your blog, great!

But now what?

Since you don’t know what they specifically love about it or what kind of content they’re drawn to, you have no way of planning future posts to ensure your readers continue to love your content (and the same can be said if your survey reveals they hate your writing, too).

But take the same goal and reword it to something more concrete:

"I'd like to know if my visitors want more content

Now you’re on your way to writing a survey with a tangible purpose that will give you data you can actually use!

Interested in learning how to create the best content that keeps your visitors engaged and coming back for more? Check out our content marketing guide for everything you need.

2. Keep surveys short: This is by far one of the biggest mistakes merchants make when designing a survey. Your visitors likely don’t have the time (or patience) to fill out a 30-minute form. Once you have your specific goal, you should be designing your survey to get the data you need as quickly as possible.

keep your surveys short

Unfortunately, there’s no clear cut rule for this, but as a general guideline, your survey shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to fill out. That (roughly) translates to 10 multiple-choice questions. If you have different response types (where people need to type in their answers), you’re looking at 3-5 questions max.

If you’re having difficulty keeping your test short, you may be trying to squeeze too much into one survey. This may be a sign that your survey objective still isn’t specific enough.

3. Decide on the most useful type of question to reach your goal: There are two types of questions: closed-ended and open-ended questions. As you can imagine, each of these has a unique set of benefits and drawbacks.

Closed-Ended Questions

Closed-ended questions provide all the response options a user can choose. They typically come in the form of multiple-choice, true/false, or any other “check the box” style response.

use closed-ended questions

Advantages: Great for gathering simple quantitative data on black and white issues.

Disadvantages: Doesn’t allow for much complexity in responses. Plus, if users don’t see a response they agree with, they may leave the survey altogether.

Open-Ended Questions

Open-ended questions ask the user to respond in their own words.

open-ended questions let users reply in their own words

Advantages: Allows users to express themselves in a more detailed way and can lead to richer, more complex data.

Disadvantages: Can be tedious for users to fill out leading to a lower completion rate.

The type of questions you ultimately choose should correspond with your specific goal but here’s a good rule of thumb:

If you want to know how a user feels about something, use open-ended questions; if you want to know what a user thinks about something, use closed-ended questions.

So if you’d like to know what your users think of your overall customer service, you’d go with a closed-ended question. If you want to know specifically what they like/dislike about their customer service experience, you can use open-ended questions.

Pro TipIf your survey has open-ended questions, you can turn them into a game-like challenge to increase completion rates. Rather than saying, “Tell me what you like about this product,” you could say “tell me what you like about this product in 10 words or less.” Encouraging brevity also helps because it reminds users your survey isn’t asking for too much of their time.

4. Incentivize your survey: One way that you can encourage users to take your survey is to add an incentive. In the same way that you give out free content/products to capture emails without being pushy, you can give out items or information to gather responses.

Here are a few ways you can do that (that don’t involve a big budget):

eBooks

Give out an eBook in exchange for someone taking a survey.

Writing an eBook is a great way to reward people for responding to your survey. Plus, eBooks don’t need to be complicated! Check out how to avoid the most common mistakes when writing your first eBook.

Contests

Allow people to enter a contest if they complete your survey.

Just like you see raffles or giveaway contests at various charity events, you can run your own online contest. The cost of entry? Completing your survey (and this is also a great way to grow your email list). Not sure how? Here are the 9 best online giveaway tools to use (including our top recommendation, RafflePress, that we’ll talk about more later).

Discounts

Offer a subscription discount for taking a survey.

Offering a discount on your product can be a great way to say “thank you” to those who took the time to fill out your survey. Plus, it can lead to higher conversions!

Show the Results

Reveal the results!

share the survey results

Believe it or not, some of your customers may be as curious about your results as you are. If you think your audience would like to know about the results of the survey, you can use that information as leverage for a higher completion rate. All you need to do is promise that you will write a blog and/or email with the results when the survey has been completed.

How to Create a Survey: Using the Right Tools for the Job

Ok, so you’re convinced. You totally see the value of creating a survey to learn more about your customers. Now you just need to know where to start.

Fortunately, you’ve got plenty of great options to choose from. Here are two of the most efficient ways to create a WordPress survey that your users will love:

1. Surveys with WordPress Plugins:

If you want to build a survey that’s effective, efficient, and easy to make, you can use one of the many plugins designed for just that. While there are a lot to choose from, here are three of our top picks:

WPForms

UserFeedback

userfeedback homepage

Formidable Forms

formidable forms advanced wordpress form builder

These plugins not only make your surveys look great, but they’re also easy for your clients to use (and even easier for you to make).

Oh, and they allow you to track the results! That means you can keep your responses organized and export them to a spreadsheet for your team to analyze. Or you can even convert the answers to a visible graph and display them on your website.

Not sure how to choose the survey plugin for your site? Check out Best Online Survey Software for Small Businesses to find the right fit.

2. Turn your survey into a popup via OptinMonster:

Using a combination of WPForms and OptinMonster (the best WordPress popup plugin), you can design a sleek survey to learn more about your customers and how they’re interacting with your site. Turning your survey into a popup yields loads of benefits, such as:

 • Learn how your customers are interacting with your site
 • Get real-time feedback from your visitors to develop better conversion strategies
 • Increase potential conversions by interacting with customers before they leave your site
 • Grow your email list
 • Gain insight into your customers’ attitudes, beliefs, and problems for a stronger marketing strategy

At the end of the day, a popup survey can literally be the difference between a visitor leaving your site forever or becoming a lifelong paying customer.

Interested but not super tech-savvy? No worries!

Here’s a tutorial on how to combine WPForms and OptinMonster to have a killer survey up and running in minutes.

**Bonus Tip**

Earlier we mentioned that it can be a good idea to add an incentive for your users to take your survey. One great tool to do this is RafflePress, a WordPress giveaway plugin designed to help you increase traffic, grow your email list, and gain more social media followers.

BUT, it can also be a great tool for getting surveys and it’s super easy to use. All you need to do is create a giveaway campaign

Amazon is without a doubt one of the most profitable companies on the planet, and for good reason. It’s reliable, secure, and gives shoppers access to nearly anything they could possibly want.

And while most of us are busy spending money on Amazon, a lot of people have learned how to make money on Amazon. Today, we’re going to show you exactly how you can join them.

More specifically, we’ll take a look at:

 • How to choose, verify, and sell products on Amazon
 • How to create an Amazon listing
 • How to make money on Amazon without selling
 • How to use your website to drive conversions through Amazon

How to Make Money on Amazon by Selling Products

When we talk about making money on Amazon through selling products, people tend to fall into two categories:

 1. Those who have an established business with a product to sell
 2. Those who are starting from scratch

If you have an established business with a product ready to sell, you’re at an advantage because you won’t need to spend time researching manufacturers. However, you may still want to verify that Amazon is the right place to sell your product by doing some market research (which we’ll cover shortly).

If you are starting from scratch, you’re wondering, “What about me? How do I start an Amazon business?” Well, you have the advantage of optimizing your product research and knowing what will, or won’t, be a good investment for your Amazon storefront.

You’ll likely want to work with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) which can handle all the details like packing, shipping, customer service, and more. As you can imagine, that service comes with its own fees which you’ll need to take into account.

Whether or not you already have a product, you’ll need a website to drive traffic and boost conversions. Don’t worry, we’ll cover that at the end of the article.

For this section, though, let’s explore what makes a good product to sell on Amazon. Here are three questions you should ask yourself when verifying whether or not your product will make money on Amazon.

1. Is there a demand for the product?

As every online merchant knows, it’s pointless to manufacture and sell something that nobody is asking for. Henry Ford’s famous quote, “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses” is an example of the exception, not the rule.

If you’re starting from scratch, a great place to begin your research is the Amazon Best Sellers page. Here you’ll find ideas in each category for products that are in high demand.

amazon best sellers home page

If you already have a product in mind, however, you’ll want to look through similar items already on Amazon and check their “Best Sellers Rank” (BSR) which can be found on any item description.

So, for example, if you were selling pens, you’d look at your competition (in this case, the popular pen brand BIC):

amazon best sellers check out competition

Then you’d scroll down to see BICs Best Sellers Rank:

amazon best sellers ranking

This number will tell you the product’s overall position in a specific category. But don’t be fooled. Even if the BSR for a similar product to yours seems high, it may still be doing well when compared with the number of products in the category at large.

In this example, the BIC pen is ranked #3,710 in the category “Office Products.” However, the total amount of items for sale in “Office Products” is over 50,000, so these BIC pens rank comparatively well in the overall category.

2. What’s the price point/profit margin?

When it comes to calculating your costs of production, shipping, and Amazon expenses, the bottom line will be asking yourself the following question:

Is it profitable to sell on Amazon?

For some retailers, selling on Amazon makes sense; for others, not so much. It really depends on your product which is why it’s better to answer this question sooner rather than later.

While every online merchant will need to answer this for themselves, here are a couple of helpful tips to keep in mind:

 • Be realistic about your product’s price. Most sales on Amazon take place from organic searches on page one. Overpriced items are rarely seen by potential customers so make sure you’re pricing items to be competitive but profitable.
 • Be realistic about the cost of production. How much money (and time) are you spending to manufacture your product? If you’re seeing $1000/week in revenue from Amazon, but it’s costing $600/week and 60 hours of your time to get everything accomplished, you’re looking at roughly $6.50 an hour.

The problem is that a lot of people forget about hidden costs when selling on Amazon which may include:

amazon seller central hidden costs

As you can imagine, all these little expenses can add up quickly. Stay organized, track what you’re spending (both financially and with your time) and make sure you’ve priced your item in a way that makes the whole operation worth it to you.

3. How’s the competition doing?

As you’re looking through your competition’s BSR and product listings, be realistic about how well you can compete with them. Consider the following questions as a helpful guideline:

Is your main competition a large brand like Nike or Sony? If so, they’ll be hard to compete with on price, quality, and range of products.

Does your competitor’s product have any negative reviews? If so, would your product solve or fix the problem the unhappy customer had?

bad review

As mentioned, does your competitor’s BSR indicate a high or low demand? If it shows a high demand, great! If not, you may want to investigate a little more.

Once you’ve verified that you have a good product to sell, you’ll simply need to create an account on Amazon Seller Central and add your product.

NoteIn this post, we don’t get into how to get your products manufactured. If you have an idea for a product and want it produced in bulk, a popular site is Alibaba. There you can create, customize, and order products to sell on Amazon.

How to Add an Amazon Listing

First, create an account on Amazon Seller Central. At this point, you’ll be asked some basic information such as business address, telephone number (for verification), credit card information (for the $39.99/month fee), and passport information to confirm your identity.

Once your account is created, you just need to make a product listing. To do that, visit the Dashboard of your Amazon Seller Central page, click on Inventory and Add a Product.

Then you can click Create a new product listing.

Now you’ll choose a category for your product:

And finally, you’ll need to fill out some basic information or Vital Info which includes the product’s name, manufacturer, brand name, and other specifics related to your product:

Quick TipYou should also add high-quality images and keywords to help your product rank higher.

Once you’re satisfied with your product’s description, you’re ready to start selling! At the end of this article, we’ll discuss how to use your website to drive sales and conversions.

But before that, let’s take a look at a technique for making money on Amazon that doesn’t require coming up with a physical product to sell.

How to Make Money on Amazon Without Selling a Product

If you’re not someone who wants to deal with manufacturers, shipping problems, or large Amazon fees, don’t worry. You can still make money on Amazon without selling anything.

How? With Amazon’s Affiliate program. Here’s how it works:

First, you’ll need to start a blog or launch a mobile app. For the purposes of this article, we’ll assume you want to keep it simple and start your own blog. If you’re totally new to this, no worries! WPBeginner has an excellent guide to help you start a blog right here.

Then, you need to choose a niche for the content of your blog. Just like when choosing a product, you’ll want to do some market research at this step, but you’ll also want to be sure you’re choosing a topic you love because (spoiler alert) you’ll be doing a fair amount of writing on that topic.

Once you’ve settled on the content of your blog, you’ve reached the hard part: building up your audience and email list. Fortunately, OptinMonster can help you with that.

With OptinMonster, you can create popups, landing pages, and hello bars to create leads and grow your email list.

You should be focused on two things at this point: increasing traffic to your site and building a solid email list with engaged users (meaning you want them to actually open the emails you’re sending). We’ll be talking more about this in a minute.

Once you’ve got a decent amount of traffic visiting your blog, you’re ready to sign up to become an affiliate associate with Amazon.

Boost Traffic25 Proven Strategies to Increase Your Blog’s Traffic by 1064%

The program is 100% free to join (which can be a huge incentive for people not comfortable with Seller Central’s $39.99/month fee). It’s also a very simple, three-step process.

amazon affiliate program to make money on amazon without selling

Here’s how it works:

First, you need to join the Amazon Affiliate Program (also known as “Amazon Associates”). You’ll be prompted to hook up your current Amazon account or create a new one.

Amazon will show your name and address to confirm this is the correct information for payment. If not, you can always change your address:

amazon affiliate program account information

Then, you’ll need to add the websites that you want to enroll in the Affiliate Program:

amazon affiliate program website information

Next, you’ll build out your profile with some basic questions about your website including an Associate’s Store ID, a brief description of what your store is about, and topics that best describe your content:

amazon affiliate program creating your profile

Now comes the fun part: looking at traffic and how you plan to monetize your blog.

You’ll choose the methods you use to drive traffic and talk about how many visitors you currently have. If you don’t have many visitors yet and aren’t currently making any revenue from your site, don’t worry! You won’t be penalized at this point.

amazon affiliate program traffic and monetization

Then just confirm your profile and you’ll be ready to start getting links to make money on Amazon without selling anything!

But keep in mind that you only have 180 days (or 6 months) to be successful.

If you haven’t made any money through Amazon’s Affiliate Program by that time, your account will be closed. That’s why it’s important to build your site and email list before enrolling in Amazon’s Affiliate program.

amazon affiliate program confirmation

Now it’s time to add a product link!

Keep in mind that creating revenue with Amazon’s Affiliate Program can be done in many ways (far too many to cover here). Today, we’ll just be looking at Product Linking.

First, on Amazon Associate’s homepage, go to Product Links under the menu header Product Linking.

amazon affiliate program product linking

Once here, you can search for products that would match the content of your blog. In this example, we’ll get a link for “pens.”

amazon affiliate program product search pens

After clicking Get Link, you’ll be taken to a page where you can customize the link for your content. You can choose between text and image, text only, and image only.

You may then customize the link to fit your needs and see a live preview of how it will appear on your site.

amazon affiliate program build customizable link

Finally, you will have access to the HTML for the link which you can insert into your website:

amazon affiliate program html for link

And that’s it! Once you’ve added the HTML to your website, you’ll be ready to start earning commissions on products purchased from that specific link. Which brings up another important question:

Can you make money with Amazon Affiliate?

It’s a great question with, unfortunately, a not-so-simple answer. In short, yes. But how much money you can make on Amazon Affiliate depends on a few things.

For starters, you earn commission depending on the type of product you’re linking to.

What are the best products to sell on Amazon? Well, Luxury Beauty items will get a 10% commission. Video games, on the other hand, will only get you a 1% commission.

Here’s a chart to help you see what you can earn by product and category:

amazon affiliate product categories for commission

This is why it’s so important to do research before launching your business. You want to make sure you’re linking to items from your website that will earn a high enough commission to make this entire process worth your time and energy.

How to Drive Amazon Conversions Using OptinMonster

When it comes to making money on Amazon, you’ll need a website with decent traffic whether you’re selling a physical product or working with affiliate links. However, more than anything else, your biggest savior will be a robust email list.

OptinMonster has many features designed to help you grow your email list. From custom forms to strategically timed optins to A/B testing capabilities, OptinMonster can help you convert casual readers into a loyal, engaged audience.

And it’s simple.

So simple, in fact, that you can create a lead-generating optin in under 5 minutes! Here’s just one example of what you can do with OptinMonster in a matter of minutes:

Grabs attention, doesn’t it? Check out our optin gallery for more inspiration.

Once you’ve grown your email list, you’ll have tons of warm leads to advertise your products on Amazon or to share content with affiliate links inside. With some hard work, a bit of patience, and the right tools, you’ll be on your way to making money on Amazon in no time.

How to Spread Awareness on Social Media

You may have read similar blog posts about how to spread awareness on social media.

And you’ve probably come across a hundred versions of the same advice: create engaging content your audience loves.

That’s why, in this post, I’ll share more unique strategies that you can actually apply in your progress to raise awareness on social media.

Each of the methods listed below shares the following advantages:

 • They don’t require any coding skills or technical knowledge.
 • You can implement them in a matter of minutes.
 • These ideas are proven to work for faster results.

With that in mind, let’s check out our 5 expert tips on how to spread awareness on social media.

1. Convert Your Site’s Traffic Into Social Media Followers

Many marketers and small business owners make a common mistake: they treat their social media marketing strategy in a vacuum.

They don’t leverage other marketing channels, such as their website, email list, and push notifications as part of their brand awareness strategy.

This is a big missed opportunity.

You can redirect some of your site’s organic traffic to your social channels. From there, you’ll be able to get more social media users to follow you and raise your brand’s awareness.

And OptinMonster is hands down the best tool to send traffic to your social media channels:

social media awareness

OptinMonster is the #1 lead generation software that allows you to easily create ‘optin campaigns.’

Optins are marketing campaigns that seek people’s permission to send them offers, promotions, discounts, and so on. Here’s an example of an optin campaign:

spread awareness on social media

Some of the most common types of optin campaigns include:

But you are probably wondering, “How do these optin campaigns help grow awareness on social media?”

That’s where using OptinMonster’s ready-to-use marketing templates, like the one below, come into play:

spread social media awareness

This campaign allows you to seamlessly redirect users to your social media networks.

The template is 100% customizable, so you can choose which social channels to promote across your site.

You’ll also be able to modify things like the image, headline, colors, text, and more without needing any coding experience.

That’s because OptinMonster uses a drag-and drop builder to give you total control over how your campaign looks and functions.

But here’s what really makes this strategy effective: you can use OptinMonster’s targeting rules to show your social campaign to the right people, in the right places, and at just the right time in their customer journey.

That means using triggers like:

 • Exit-Intent® Technology: Grow your social following from visitors who are actively leaving your website.
 • Scroll Depth: Boost conversions by displaying your campaign after people have shown interest in your on-page content.
 • OnSite Retargeting®: Keep users engaged by showing fresh campaigns to returning visitors.

These are just a few of the ways you can target social media campaigns to get higher conversions, though there are many others.

2. Build Custom Campaigns for Social Traffic

I just shared a tip about how you can send your website traffic to your social channels to raise awareness about your brand.

Now, I suggest you do somewhat opposite.

Rather than using optin campaigns to redirect users to your social media profiles, you can create optins to welcome visitors from a specific social network.

Here’s an example of what that might look like:

raise online presence on social media

The popup above shows a campaign made for mobile devices. And it rewards visitors coming from Facebook with a 25% discount.

This helps you boost brand awareness and improve your word-of-mouth marketing efforts.

By creating personalized offers for visitors coming from a particular social channel, you can compound the effect of your social and organic traffic.

You also start training users to check in with your social accounts for more deals and future savings.

Plus, everything can be set up in a matter of minutes.

With OptinMonster, you can target your customers based on where they’re visiting from with Referer Detection.

Imagine being able to present an offer for visitors coming from Instagram and an entirely unique offer for visitors from the Facebook page.

You’ll be able to tailor your messaging to sub-groups (also called ‘segments’) of your audience.

This will make your brand more memorable and get you higher conversions in the process.

Want to try it out first-hand? Get started with your 100% risk-free OptinMonster account today!

3. Display Social Feeds on Your Site

So far, I have shared 2 ideas that help you link your social media traffic with your site traffic. Both these tips involve people coming and going from one marketing channel to the other.

With this 3rd tip, you can link the 2 traffic even more closely by displaying a real-time social feed on your website.

That means taking feeds from sources like:

 • Instagram
 • Facebook
 • X.com (formerly Twitter)
 • YouTube
 • And more…

Then you can display social media content from these platforms on your website.

You can also show the feed in specified areas across your entire site. This can be in places like above the footer or in a sidebar.

Here’s an example from the Endeavour Team of what an Instagram feed would look like on a home page:

social media online awareness

This gives your social media channels more exposure.

As people visit your website, they’ll have immediate access to your social media feeds. They can click directly on the feed to land on the particular social platform and start engaging with your brand.

If your website is built on WordPress, setting up a social feed on your site is extremely easy. You just need a tool like Smash Balloon:

spread awareness on social media

Smash Balloon is a powerful tool that you can use to add social media feeds to your WordPress site.

This premium plugin lets you customize feeds from:

 • YouTube
 • Facebook
 • X.com
 • Instagram

Once you download the plugin, there are zero technical or coding skills required.

Everything is totally customizable with an easy-to-use dashboard. You can tailor your social feeds to your brand’s look and style.

As a result, you’ll gain a larger following on social media and build brand awareness.

Check out Smash Balloon today!

4. Run Contests on Social Media

Running an online giveaway contest is yet another great way to build awareness on social media.

Online contests are powerful marketing strategies that can help you improve your social engagement fast.

And the whole process of planning an online contest is pretty simple:

 • Select a prize that is valuable for your target audience.
 • Define how a new audience member can enter the contest.
 • Announce the winner.
 • Follow up with a special offer for all the participants.

To increase your social media following, you can make following your social media pages a prerequisite to entering the contest.

And if you want that contest to go viral, you can award extra entries for participants. For instance, if you are running a giveaway contest among your Facebook followers, you can give extra entries to people who complete one or more of these ‘bonus actions:’

 • Follow your Instagram page.
 • Watch a 2-Minute Video.
 • Share the Contest on Their Social Feed.
 • Visit a Landing Page on Your Website.
 • Subscribe to Your YouTube Channel.

If you follow the strategy outlined above, you can grow your social media following and generate more revenue in the process.

By making a targeted call-to-action (CTA) aimed at growing your social engagement, you’ll be raising awareness about your brand on social media.

For more tips on making the most of online contests, check out our guide on How to Run an Online Contest to Boost Traffic and Generate Leads.

But how can you create an online contest from scratch if you’re strapped for time?

If you’re using WordPress, all you need is a plugin like RafflePress:

spread online awareness on social media

RafflePress is the world’s best viral contest builder and giveaway plugin.

The best part about RafflePress is that it’s really easy to create custom contests designed to go viral from the start.

That’s because you can configure ‘entry points’ that are tied to different calls to action.

For instance, someone could read a blog post for 3 entry points, share the post on social for 2 entry points, or follow your social channel for 1 entry point.

That would give each participant the ability to have 6 entry points total and boost their odds of winning.

You can set these actions to be optional or mandatory, giving your users more freedom to choose how they enter the contest.

With RafflePress, you can select prizes that your target audience will love. Then you can build a contest with CTAs to boost your online presence on social media.

From there, you’ll be able to add contests to existing posts and pages or generate a new landing page with a single click.

Plus, there’s no coding required, making this the perfect tool for beginners.

Want to see it in action for yourself? Get started with RafflePress today!

5. Have a Consistent Posting Schedule

Like I said at the start of the post, building your online presence can take time.

And one of the most important ingredients to a successful social media awareness campaign is simply consistency.

Lots of marketers and business owners begin posting on social media but burn out after a few weeks. Usually, it’s because they run out of topics to post about as time goes on.

A good way to avoid this is to create a posting schedule and calendar that you can stick to.

I highly recommend scheduling your social media posts throughout the week to make sure you are ahead of schedule.

While there are lots of tools for scheduling social posts, you might already have access to one through a popular SEO tool: Semrush.

social media awareness

Semrush is primarily a software used to increase your rankings on search engines like Google. It allows you to research keywords, analyze competitor strategies, and identify LSI/related keywords your posts need.

But what many people don’t know is that Semrush also has a social media poster that connects to:

 • Facebook
 • LinkedIn
 • X.com
 • Instagram
 • YouTube

And it allows you to easily schedule all of your social posts:

raise social media awareness

With Semrush, you’ll also have access to features that will help you improve your search engine optimization (SEO).

If your business is trying to grow on social media and improve your organic rankings, I strongly recommend you use Semrush to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

As you schedule more posts for social media, you can start automating your social strategy. This helps you build more brand awareness in less time.

The post How to Host a Virtual Conference: Everything You Need appeared first on OptinMonster.]]>
Are you considering hosting a virtual conference to build authority in your niche? Not sure where to start?

Between a lack of time and budget, you might feel like it’s an impossible task. But I have got some great news for you: it’s possible when you know how to host a virtual conference.

Virtual conferences are a great option for so many reasons. But now you might be wondering, ‘Wait…what is a virtual conference, anyway?’

We’ll get there in just a bit.

Plus, I’ll teach you exactly how to host a virtual conference and include every tool you need. Here’s everything I’ll cover in this article:

To begin with, let’s first understand what a virtual conference is and why traditional events are losing their sheen.

What Is a Virtual Conference?

A virtual conference or summit is an online event where participants with similar interests attend remotely, usually from the comfort of their own homes.

But how does a virtual conference work?

They are just like any other in-person conference you might have hosted or attended in the past, but online. The other big difference is that online events are way more convenient for everyone.

Hosting a virtual conference has all kinds of benefits, such as:

 • Improving your authority in your niche
 • Meeting new interesting people
 • Networking opportunities with other experts in your field
 • Adding value to your audience’s lives
 • Developing partnerships with sponsors
 • Creating more revenue for your business
 • Providing more flexible dates for attendees
 • Reaching more people
 • Boost audience engagement

These are a few advantages just off the top of my head. The list could easily go on.

It’s that last benefit that’s the most important. Hosting a virtual conference can produce a more attentive, focused, and engaged audience. Plus, online events can be real-time, multi-day, on-demand, or recorded.

Frankly speaking, in-person trade shows can be unproductive despite them appearing more exotic.

Between breakout sessions, happy hours, Q&A sessions, attendee networking, and team-building activities, many conferences tend to lose steam after lunchtime.

But when you are hosting a virtual conference, you can keep the momentum going. It’s no wonder why so many companies have decided to host online conferences that are highly interactive and have a wider reach.

Let’s look at some statistics:

Apple Events is one of the best examples of virtual conferences. Millions of people from all over the world watch Apple Events, with the latest event garnering over 3.6 million views.

Similarly, the Google I/O event had over 1.5 million views within just a week after it was live-streamed in May 2024.

Clearly, there is a desire for online conferences. Like I mentioned earlier, the pros of virtual event planning such as convenience, budget, and inclusivity are just too good to pass up.

Why Out-of-Town Conferences Are Out-of-Date

With all the technological advances over the last 10 years, it’s impressive that many of us don’t have to leave our homes for anything. Earlier, especially before the 2020 pandemic, people had to figure out how to get from Point A to B to see friends, buy clothes, or get to work.

Now, we have loads of tools that allow us to socialize, order food, or work full-time from home! In other words, the whole idea of having a Point B for anything other than fun is often non-productive.

This is all the more true with conferences.

Conferences are a great way to expand your knowledge and meet interesting people. But on top of the ticket to attend, you need to find hotels, food, flights, and all the little expenses in between.

And that’s just if you are attending.

If you are hosting a conference, you can expect those costs to skyrocket. Why? Because you need to find accommodations for all your speakers. You also need to find a suitable venue to host your guests.

In-person or hybrid event management involves managing a lot of moving parts. And more often than not, a few things tend to go haywire causing chaos and confusion for the event participants.

Simply put, planning out-of-town or in-person events can be overwhelming at best and a total nightmare at worst.

Luckily, there’s an alternative that’s more accessible to business owners who want to host an event: virtual conferences (also known as ‘virtual summits’).

Now, you may be thinking, ‘But how exactly can I host a virtual summit?’

Let’s turn our attention to some virtual summit best practices so you can offer your customers a delightful virtual experience.

How To Host a Virtual Conference

Plan Your Conference Theme Before Reaching Out

Your first task is to outline your virtual conference. If you are even considering hosting a virtual conference, you probably already have your general theme in mind related to your niche.

If not, start there.

You’ll also need to nail down a few key details before shortlisting speakers or reaching out to keynote speakers. Consider the following questions, for example:

 • Why is this an important theme to cover?
 • How would your event attendees benefit from this conference?
 • What do you expect to charge for the event?
 • When would you like to hold your conference?
 • How many days will your conference last?
 • Will each day be full, half, or quarter days?
 • How many guest speakers can you expect to participate in the event?

Questions like these can help you narrow in on what you need to host your live event. When it’s time to ask guest speakers for help, you’ll know what you are talking about.

Note: Thinking about creating an online conference without guest speakers? If yes, consider starting an online course instead. Check out this detailed article to help get you started.

Just look at this vague guest speaker request:

host a virtual conference

This kind of message shows that the organizer doesn’t have a concrete grasp of the details needed to host a successful virtual conference.

Now compare that vague message with this one that is clearer:

how to host a virtual conference

Out of the two templates, the latter has concrete information and has already answered the specific questions required to run a successful virtual summit.

Because of that preparation, you are much more likely to get better, more professional, and more reliable speakers to participate!

Assemble the Right Tools

Now that you have your outline and guest speakers lined up, you need to take those ideas on paper and put them into action.

And for that, you need the right tools.

Luckily we’ve curated a list of all the tools you need to host a successful virtual conference.

But first, a quick disclaimer: for this post, we assume you already have a website up and running for your business. If not, that’s the first step to take, and we recommend going with WordPress.

Check out this in-depth tutorial on how to create a WordPress site for beginners.

Assuming you do have your site, though, check out the following tools that will make creating your online conference a breeze.

Email Service Providers

First and foremost, you are going to want to choose an email service provider (ESP) for when your attendees sign up.

One of the many benefits of hosting an online conference is that it can drastically boost your email list. Then, in the future, you can use this list to help your overall email marketing strategy.

For instance, you can:

 • Send information about new content related to the conference.
 • Upsell your virtual attendees with related products or services.
 • Update attendees about a product launch related to your virtual summit’s theme.
 • Offer cool online courses to let attendees deepen their knowledge base.
 • Have a list of warm leads for future events to boost ticket sales.

And much more.

I personally recommend the following 3 choices for your email service providers:

1. Constant Contact

host a virtual conference

Constant Contact is a great tool that lets you manage your email list, contact list, email templates, and more. If you are looking for a service that helps with nearly every aspect of your marketing strategy, Constant Contact is worth checking out.

They also offer a free trial (no credit card required), so you can give them a try risk-free.

2. Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)

how to host a virtual summit

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is another excellent option for your email service provider. It has an intuitive and easy-to-use drag-and-drop builder for campaigns.

Brevo also helps you segment your email list and automate your email series to drive sales.

Pricing is also competitive, starting at just $9/month for their Starter plan.

3. Drip

how to host a virtual event

Drip is a cool email service provider to test out. It has a fun, user-friendly interface that’s easy to learn.

Its drag-and-drop builder makes creating campaigns a breeze. I prefer Drip to some other popular platforms like MailChimp.

Plus, Drip’s support team is stellar!

You can use Drip for free (no credit card required) or schedule a 1:1 demo if you want more information.

And there you have it. These 3 ESPs can help you grow your email list and boost your email marketing strategy before, during, and after your virtual summit.

Lead Generation Tools

Earlier, I mentioned that I recommend you build a site with WordPress. One of the advantages of that is having access to great plugins that can help you with hosting a successful virtual conference.

Here are 3 plugins that will help you set up your virtual conference:

1. WPForms

how to host a virtual conference

WPForms is the world’s best form builder for WordPress. With WPForms, you can set up a registration form in minutes. You can then sync up your new leads to the ESP you chose in the last section.

Creating this registration form in WPForms is surprisingly easy.

You just need to install the WPForm plugin and enable the User Registration addon. If this sounds complicated, don’t worry. You can check out the full tutorial here.

Having a registration form is crucial for letting your attendees sign up for your virtual conference in advance.

And if you are planning on charging for your online conference, be sure to check out their tutorials on adding Stripe or PayPal to your form.

2. MemberPress

tips to host a virtual conference

An alternative to putting up a registration form on your site is to turn your website into a membership site using MemberPress.

Having a members-only page on your WordPress site is a great way of providing extra value to your paying attendees. Plus, adding a members’ section creates a fear of missing out (FOMO) that you can use to enhance your marketing strategy.

MemberPress is the easiest way to turn your WordPress website into a membership site.

Also, MemberPress conforms with your site’s theme by default, making sure it doesn’t take away from your user experience (UX).

All the data is available directly on your site, and you have full control over what members can and can’t access. That means you could also have a tiered payment plan for your virtual conference and provide access to more premium features.

3. LearnDash

virtual conference examples

LearnDash is a powerful learning management system (LMS) designed for WordPress sites. With LearDash, you can create online courses, monetize your website content, and build an online learning community.

As you can imagine, you can also use the tool to enhance your virtual conference.

LearnDash lets you hand out follow-up course materials to your attendees after the conference. This creates more value for attending a virtual conference and improves the overall event experience.

When it comes to creating an online course, one idea is to have tiered payment plans (like I mentioned earlier) for your conference tickets. Then you can create follow-up courses to boost both your attendees’ knowledge and your revenue.

Live Video Platforms

1. Zoom
how to host a virtual event

Zoom is one of the most-used virtual event platforms around.

It’s super intuitive and has a low learning curve. That means it’s more accessible to your audience, who may be less comfortable with technology.

Plus, you can use Zoom to host live sessions or record and distribute the live streaming to your audience later for a wider reach.

Though Zoom does have a free version, you’ll likely want a paid version. The Business plan is priced at $18.32/month and allows up to 300 conference guests and 30 hours per meeting.

Zoom also has a great mobile app that lets you attend virtual meetings on the go.

If you are expecting a much larger group of people to attend, you may want to contact Zoom’s sales team. But no matter what plan you ultimately choose, Zoom is one of the most affordable virtual conference software you’ll find.

2. Google Meets

host a virtual event

Google Meet is a user-friendly video conferencing platform for hosting webinars and virtual conferences.

Free for basic use, it offers high-quality audio and video calls without downloads, making it accessible to anyone with a web browser.

The tool integrates seamlessly with Google Calendar and joining virtual meetings is a breeze. While it lacks some interactive features than its competitors, Google Meet’s ease of use, reliability, and affordability make it a top choice for anyone looking to connect remotely.

Google Meet’s basic functionalities are free, allowing up to 100 participants for 60 minutes. For extended meetings, recording, and other pro features, Google Workspace plans start at $6 per user/month.

Ok, so you are just about all set. So far, we’ve covered:

 • Planning and reaching out to guest speakers
 • Using helpful plugins for your online summit
 • Finding the best virtual conference platform to host your presentations

Next, we’ll jump to the most important part: getting more attendees to join your conference once you’ve built it.

So let’s check out a few strategies for marketing your virtual summit.

Attract More Attendees

One of the hardest parts of hosting an online conference is to spread the word about it. But don’t worry, I have 3 actionable tips for you to get more attendees to join your conference.

 1. Run an Online Contest on Social Media
 2. Reach Out to Your Current Email List
 3. Use OptinMonster Campaigns To Convert Site Traffic

1. Run an Online Contest on Social Media

Social media is one of the best channels to drive traffic to your site. No matter which social media platform you use for your teams, it can be one of your strongest assets in attracting the right audience to your online event.

There are a few ways that you can use social media to drive traffic to your online conference. The best way to attract people to your online conferences via social media is to create an online giveaway.

And for that, there’s no better tool than RafflePress:

RafflePress is the world’s best plugin for creating online contests that go viral. With RafflePress, you can easily create a contest and give away free admission to your online conference.

By doing that, you’ll create hype around the event.

Since RafflePress allows you to award more points for certain tasks, you can also encourage people to:

 • Visit your website.
 • Follow your social media accounts.
 • Share the contest with others.

And much more.

RafflePress has an easy-to-use drag-and-drop campaign builder. You can design your giveaway or online contest in several different ways to match your brand’s style.

RafflePress also allows you to protect your contest from getting any spam entries. You can check out a full list of its features here.

If you are serious about attracting more people to attend your networking event, a contest on social media can be one of your strongest tools.

2. Reach Out to Your Current Email List

There’s no better way to grow your business than a robust email list. That’s because email marketing helps your business explode its traffic and revenue.

If you already have an email list, you should create a series of emails to market your online conferences to your existing subscribers.

Using your email list to promote the event means you already know your audience is interested in the topic. Since they have already voluntarily given you their email address, there’s a good chance that they’ll love the online summit in your niche.

In other words, you are promoting your online course to extremely warm leads.

You may also want to pre-record parts of your virtual summit to send as a teaser video. This helps you build excitement around the event and show the audience what they can expect from it.

Pro Tip: You can use our MonsterLinks™ directly in your email campaigns. By embedding these links in the copy of your emails, you can redirect your email list to your online conference campaigns.

As you are writing your email series, remember to use the following email copywriting best practices: including:

 • Use a catchy subject line to get attention.
 • Write in an engaging, conversational style.
 • Include visual media like photos and pictures.
 • Check your text for grammar and spelling mistakes.

By applying these tips in your email copywriting, you are more likely to increase your click-through rate (CTR). That means increasing your odds of having more attendees at your online conference.

3. Use OptinMonster Campaigns To Convert Site Traffic

Besides leveraging social media and email marketing, you’ll also want to develop online campaigns on your site to convince people to attend your conferences.

And that’s where OptinMonster comes in.

With OptinMonster, you can build tons of targeted campaigns such as:

host a virtual summit

You can also Fullscreen Welcome Mats like landing pages. Because they take the entire screen when the campaign is triggered, they instantly become a new page on your site.

But the best part is that they don’t have a URL. That makes them much more flexible than traditional landing pages. With a Fullscreen Welcome Mat, you have a landing page that goes to your traffic, not the other way around. This makes fullscreen campaigns a powerful lead generation tool to boost your conversion metrics.

You can also use OptinMonster’s display rules to control when and where your campaigns appear on your site. That way, you can ensure that the right audience sees your online event marketing campaign in the right place and at the right time.

Here’s a short video that explains how OptinMonster’s display rules work:

Ready To Host a Virtual Conference?

And that’s it! You now have everything you need to host an online conference and improve attendee engagement.

Do you want to create a Mailchimp popup to grow your email list?

Whether you are running an online store or simply monetizing a blog, getting more subscribers can be tough.

When you have a robust email list, you can build a long-lasting relationship with your subscribers and grow your business. For instance, you can use the mailing list to send them personalized emails, encourage them to visit your site often, and increase your sales.

A simple email series can help you attract repeat customers to your online store or blog.

But where do you keep your growing contact list? One of the most popular options is Mailchimp.

Mailchimp is one of the leading email marketing tools that lets you segment your contact lists into distinct groups.

mailchimp wordpress popup

It’s a good tool for beginner marketers, business owners, and bloggers to send personalized emails that convert.

That’s why, today, I’m going to teach you how to add a Mailchimp popup to your website to grow your email list. I’ll use 2 methods: one for your Shopify store and the other for your WordPress site.

Here’s a more specific breakdown of what I’ll cover in this post:

What Is a Mailchimp Popup?

A Mailchimp popup is a marketing campaign on your website that gathers new leads and sends them directly to your Mailchimp account.

That way, you can organize new email addresses into segmented contact lists. Then you can send personalized email campaigns to your audience to boost your conversions.

Here’s a closer look at how this works.

When your customer lands on your website, you’ll display an email subscriber form that looks like this:

mailchimp popup shopify

I used OptinMonster to build this MailChimp popup. It took me less than 10 minutes to create it.

If you are making a popup like this, make sure it has some kind of offer that’s hard for people to refuse. This could be a promotional deal, an eBook, or anything else you think your audience would find valuable.

We call these special offers lead magnets.

Since your lead magnet is enticing for customers, they are willing to enter their email addresses to receive the offer. That email address goes straight to a specific contact list in your Mailchimp account.

As your list grows, you’ll have more opportunities to reach out to these contact lists with follow-up promotions. This will bring customers back to your store or blog and increase your overall profits.

But where does OptinMonster fit into all this? Does Mailchimp allow its users to create subscriber popups too?

Let me answer these questions in the next section.

Why Use OptinMonster for Your Mailchimp Popup

OptinMonster is the best popup builder for growing your email subscribers, increasing conversion rates, and driving more sales from your website.

mailchimp popup shopify

OptinMonster not only gives you the ability to create visually appealing popups that convert, but also facilitates campaigns that offer a good user experience.

But how?

With targeted optin campaigns.

Optin campaigns are small messages that you show to your site’s traffic when you want them to take a specific action.

These campaigns can be in the form of popupswelcome gatesslide-in scroll boxes, and other optin forms that help you improve your lead generation.

OptinMonster also integrates with popular form builders, such as WPForms so that you can embed an HTML form into your OptinMonster campaign.

OptinMonster’s popup plugin helps you achieve your marketing goals no matter if it’s getting more page views, more newsletter signups, or more sales. Whatever the case may be, OptinMonster is the best tool to meet your goals.

And it’s a lot better than Mailchimp. Here’s why.

Mailchimp is primarily an email service provider (ESP) that offers a few optin campaigns on the side, such as popups and landing pages. The popup campaigns they provide are basic and limited in terms of what they can do.

For example, here is how one of their popup form designs look like:

mailchimp wordpress popup

There’s some text, a call to action (CTA) button, an email form field, and an image box. Mailchimp offers 5 layouts in total, each involving these same elements.

Then for their display settings, you have the following options:

 • Immediately
 • After 5 seconds
 • After 20 seconds
 • Scroll to the middle or end of the page
 • On exit
mailchimp wordpress popups

This works for some website owners. However, your personalization options are highly limited.

So, how does this compare with OptinMonster?

To begin with, OptinMonster isn’t an ESP. You can use it to create an email newsletter or schedule it. Instead, OptinMonster specializes in helping you generate leads.

To understand the nuances between the 2 software, read our comparison article on OptinMonster vs. Mailchimp: Which Is Better for Lead Generation?

Since generating leads is what OptinMonster specializes in, we’ve made sure we’re the best at it.

OptinMonster offers more campaign types to reach your audience and more ways to target them. With OptinMonster, you can send the right campaigns to the right people at just the right time in their customer journey.

To give you a quick comparison, here’s a snapshot of OptinMonster’s display rules:

mailchimp popup shopify

Each of these display options offers further choices and lets you control where and where the campaign appears, or who can see it.

More on that later.

Finally, OptinMonster syncs with any ESP on the market, Mailchimp included. So if you ever decide to change your ESP as you grow, you’ll never feel locked into a software you don’t want anymore.

You can still use OptinMonster to grow your lists and have the freedom of sending your email campaigns with whatever ESP you like.

Coming back to our tutorial today, there are 2 reasons why you might want to add a Mailchimp signup form to your site:

 • To grow your Shopify business.
 • To increase subscribers for your WordPress site or blog.

Let’s go through the step-by-step process of how you can create a popup for each scenario.

Method 1: Create a Mailchimp Popup for Shopify

In this tutorial, I’ll create a Mailchimp signup popup for your Shopify store.

Shopify is one of the biggest eCommerce platforms in the world. It’s popular because of how easy it is to use and how many features come locked and loaded with its basic package.

In short, it’s a great platform for new businesses and entrepreneurs who want to make money with Shopify. But to create an email signup form in Shopify, you’ll need OptinMonster.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do that:

Step 1: Connect OptinMonster With Your Shopify Store

To get started, log into your Shopify account:

mailchimp shopify popup

Next, head over to OptinMonster’s app in the Shopify store and click Install:

mailchimp wordpress popup

Allow OptinMonster the necessary permissions and proceed to install the app:

mailchimp popups shopify

And you’re all set! You’ve just connected your Shopify account with OptinMonster. You’ll see this message in your OptinMonster dashboard:

mailchimp popup for shopify

With this, your Mailchimp Shopify popup is nearly complete.

We just need to build your popup campaign with OptinMonster.

Step 2: Create Your Popup Campaign

First, you need to log into your OptinMonster dashboard and click Create New Campaign:

mailchimp popup for wordpress

Select your campaign type. For this tutorial, I’ll use Popup:

wordpress popup mailchimp

From there, you’ll need to choose your campaign’s template.

OptinMonster has over 700 pre-built templates. That means you can build beautiful campaigns in a matter of minutes. This saves you both time and headaches along the way.

And if you want a truly custom popup for your site, you can build one from scratch with our Canvas template:

how to add mailchimp popup in shopify

This will give you a blank template that you can design with our drag-and-drop editor. No coding required.

For this tutorial, I’ll choose the Shopping Coupon Discount template:

ways to add mailchimp popup in wordpress

This template is perfect for eCommerce. It gives you plenty of space to showcase your products on the left and enough room to write compelling copy on the right.

Next, name your campaign. I’ll name mine MailChimp Popup Shopify. Now assign it to your Shopify site, and click on Start Building:

wordpress mailchimp popup

Then you’re ready to start configuring your popup design to match your brand style.

Step 3: Design Your Popup

This is how the default template looks like in the editor:

In this tutorial, I won’t get into too much detail about how to design your campaign because there are too many customization options to choose from in one post.

If this is your first time working with OptinMonster, I recommend watching this video:

Editing your popup is easy with our drag-and-drop builder even if you have never done it before.

You can change any element of your campaign by clicking on it in the editor. Then the editing tools will appear on the left-hand side menu.

To change the header copy, for example, just click on the text in the image and edit the text directly in the editor:

how to add mailchimp popup in shopify

You can also change the image by clicking on it and using the editing tools that appear on the left-hand side:

Mailchimp popup shopify

For instance, you can upload a new image or use one from a previous campaign:

wordpress mailchimp popup

Finally, if you want to add anything to your popup campaign, you can do that, too. Just go to the left-hand menu panel and look for the right elements in the search box under Blocks:

shopify mailchimp popups

You’ll see many options that you can add to your Mailchimp Popup Shopify campaign, including:

 • Button
 • ChatBot
 • Countdown Timer
 • Divider
 • Text
 • Image
 • Video

To move these blocks into your campaign, drag and drop them on the editor:

And the best part? You can easily map any field to your Mailchimp popup.

Here’s the design I created for the Mailchimp Popup Shopify campaign:

Again, this took less than 10 minutes to create!

Next, I’ll show you how you can use OptinMonster’s targeting features to control where and when to show the MailChimp Popup Shopify campaign.

Step 4: Set Your Display Rules

There are many ways you can choose to display your campaign. OptinMonster has a ton of targets and trigger options to make sure you’re reaching the right audience at the right time.

Today, I’ll focus on 2 powerful popup triggers:

 • Exit-Intent®
 • MonsterLinks™

Triggers are rules that track your site’s user behavior to determine if a popup should appear. This includes events such as when users are about to leave your webpage if they click a link or button, or how far down the browser page they scroll.

Let’s look at how these 2 triggers can be set up for your Mailchimp popup and briefly talk about why they are so powerful.

Exit-Intent®

This trigger shows a popup whenever someone tries to leave your website. It’s a great way for eCommerce websites to recover abandoned shopping carts and convert them into sales.

Setting up an exit intent trigger is easy with OptinMonster.

First, head over to the Display Rules tab:

woocommerce checkout page

Click on the time on page condition. Next, click When from the dropdown and choose Exit Intent® from the available options:

wordpress popup mailchimp

Then choose which devices you want to use your exit intent rule for. You can choose between desktop-only, mobile-only, or both:

step by step shopify wordpress popup mailchimp

You can also set the sensitivity level for your Mailchimp exit intent popup:

wordpress mailchimp popup examples

Keep in mind that the sensitivity level you choose will have a direct impact on your mobile popup. That’s because Low and Medium sensitivity creates a scroll-up trigger, but High sensitivity creates a back button trigger.

Read this article to learn more about these 2 types of mobile exit intent triggers.

Exit-Intent® Technology is incredibly powerful. As an example, Crossrope used this feature to grow its email list by 900%.

But there’s another popular trigger that we’ll look at in this tutorial, too.

MonsterLinks™

MonsterLinks™ is the perfect solution if you want a Mailchimp popup on click. That means whenever your visitors click on a specific link in your content, they’ll see your popup campaign.

MonsterLinks™ is how Bulkly was able to increase free trial signups by 134%. It’s a great way of making your popup campaigns more accessible to your readers.

And setting them up is easy. Once you are on the Display Rules page, click on time on page. Click on When from the dropdown and choose MonsterLinksTM (On Click) from the options:

wordpress mailchimp popup tutorial

Next, click on the Copy MonsterLink™ Code link:

how to add mailchimp popup to wordpress

You can now embed this link anywhere in your content. With this, your popup campaign will appear when a user clicks on the MonsterLink™.

But here’s an important question: Where do the details go when visitors enter their email addresses to sign up for your offer?

For that, you have to integrate Mailchimp (or any other email automation software) with your OptinMonster account.

Let me walk you through how that’s done in the next section.

Step 5: Integrate Mailchimp With OptinMonster

Integrating your favorite email marketing software with OptinMonster is incredibly simple.

If you don’t use Mailchimp, or you are thinking about changing providers, read this resource on how to connect your email service provider in OptinMonster.

For today, I’ll show you how to connect OptinMonster to Mailchimp.

To get started, click on the Integrations tab:

wordpress mailchimp popup tutorial

OptinMonster integrates natively with over 30 of the most popular ESPs on the market.

This integration functionality allows you to automate your lead generation so you can add new leads from your marketing campaigns to your ESP.

Type the name of your ESP or scroll through the page to find it manually:

shopify wordpress popup examples

I’ll choose MailChimp since that’s what we are covering in this tutorial:

wordpress mailchimp popups

Here, you’ll need 2 things:

 • Your Mailchimp account label
 • Mailchimp API key

Your account label won’t be seen by others. This just keeps you organized.

You can label your Mailchimp integrations however you want it. You can also stick to something generic like My Mailchimp Integration.

But now you need your API key from Mailchimp. For that, go to your Mailchimp dashboard and click Account in the dropdown menu by your username in the top right-hand corner:

shopify mailchimp popup tutorial

In your account dashboard, go to API keys within Extras:

shopify mailchimp popups example

Copy your most recent API key from your Mailchimp dashboard:

shopify mailchimp popup tutorial

Here, you can also create a new API key if you need it. Now go back to your OptinMonster Integration page and paste the API key. When you are done, click on the Connect to MailChimp button:

shopify mailchimp popup example

And that’s it! Your Mailchimp account is now synced to your popup. You can even decide which contact list you would like to send your new leads to straight from your OptinMonster dashboard.

Pro-tip: Don’t see your ESP listed? You can get started with Monster LeadsMonster Leads is OptinMonster’s internal lead storage tool. It lets you store your lead data, export it, and send individual emails from your existing email client.

All that’s left to do now is save and publish.

Step 6: Save and Publish Your Campaign

Click on the Save button on the top-right corner of your screen:

woocommerce checkout page

Next, go to the Publish tab:

woocommerce checkout page

Under the Publish Status, click on Publish:

wordpress mailchimp popup

What if you don’t have a Shopify store? What if you want a Mailchimp popup for your WordPress website?

That’s what I’ll cover in the next method.

Method 2: Create a Mailchimp WordPress Popup With OptinMonster

In some cases, you may not have an online store. Instead, you might be making money online through affiliate marketing and running a blog. Still, you need a robust email list.

Connecting OptinMonster to your WordPress site is really easy. Here’s how you do it:

Step 1: Connect OptinMonster to WordPress

Most businesses need a subscription form on their WordPress sites to build an email list.

It’s incredibly easy to add MailChimp popups to your WordPress site once you’ve created your OptinMonster account.

Head to your WordPress dashboard. Go to Plugins from the menu and click on Add New Plugin:

wordpress mailchimp popup

Search for the OptinMonster plugin and click Install Now:

mailchimp wordpress popup

Next, click on the Activate button in the widget:

shopify popup mailchimp

If you’ve never done this before, check out this helpful article that gives you 3 methods to install a plugin.

In your OptinMonster plugin dashboard, you’ll have 2 options:

 • Create a free account
 • Connect to your existing account
shopify mailchimp popup

Click Connect an Existing Account if you’ve already signed up for OptinMonster. On the next page, click Connect To WordPress:

wordpress mailchimp popup

Now you can create and manage your campaigns from your WordPress dashboard. If this is a new account, you likely won’t have any campaigns yet:

mailchimp popup for wordpress sites

After this tutorial, your Mailchimp WordPress popup will appear in your OptinMonster’s campaigns dashboard.

Do you want to use banners on your WordPress site to get more conversions, increase sales, and keep your customers in the know? Looking for the best WordPress banner plugins?

Banners can be a great addition to any website. They allow you to alert customers about company-wide updates, showcase coupons and promotions, or grow your email list.

Banners sit at the top or bottom of your visitor’s browser so they don’t interrupt their user experience (UX). This gives you a subtle but effective solution to engage with your online store’s customers.

I use a similar banner on my website to improve my email subscription and it’s been giving me good results:

Here’s another example of a banner located at the bottom of ActiveCampaign’s website:

ActiveCampaign added over 800 free trials every month after they started using this banner. For more information on the campaign, read How ActiveCampaign Adds 800 Free Trials Each Month With One Optin.

With the right WordPress tool, you too can set up and configure a website banner to improve your lead generation and eCommerce sales.

That’s why, in today’s post, I’ll share the best WordPress banner plugins to help you increase conversions.

Ready to get started? Let’s dive straight into the list.

Best WordPress Banner Plugins (Compared)

We’ll be looking at 7 of the best WordPress banner plugins that you can start using today. In this post, I’ll cover the following tools:

Let’s jump to the list!

1. OptinMonster

OptinMonster is a premium lead generation plugin for WordPress and hands down your best bet for adding a custom banner bar to your website.

OptinMonster gives you all the tools that you need to create and display banners in minutes, even if you have no coding skills or design experience.

OptinMonster’s WordPress plugin widget comes with 100+ pre-made templates that you can use to get a headstart in the campaign creation process:

With OptinMonster, you can capture more leads and increase conversions through stunning modal popups, slide-insfullscreen welcome matssidebar contact forms, and inline campaigns.

All of OptinMonster’s templates are fully responsive and mobile-friendly. You can create all types of banners, such as:

 • Floating bar campaigns for running flash sales or online promotions.
 • Website notification bar campaign to announce site visitors about an upcoming scheduled maintenance.
 • Hello bar optins to encourage people to subscribe to your email newsletter.

Plus, they’re easy to modify. That’s because OptinMonster comes with a codeless drag-and-drop visual builder.

This lets you change the text and add new elements to your WordPress banner with just a few clicks.

To edit the header text in the template, for example, simply click on the header and make changes directly in the editor:

If you want to add new elements to your campaign, you can simply drag and drop them into your campaign builder.

You just need to find the right element under the Blocks menu at the top-left of your dashboard, click and drag it, and drop it in the editor.

OptinMonster has a ton of blocks that you might want to add to your campaign, such as:

 • Video
 • Image
 • Text
 • Countdown timers
 • Custom HTML
 • Embedded Forms
 • Form fields
 • Icons
 • ChatBot

And much more…

Since OptinMonster has all kinds of blocks that you can readily use for a successful campaign, you don’t need to use another 3rd-party tool to create an element from scratch.

That means you don’t need a professional designer to create a stunning WordPress banner bar.

But creating a new banner campaign is only half the battle. The other half is showing it to the right people, in the right places, and at just the right time in their customer journey.

For that, you’ll want to leverage OptinMonster’s powerful targeting rules. For popup banners, the most common targeting rules include:

 • Page-level: Personalize the UX by tailoring your banner to page-specific content.
 • OnSite Retargeting®: Keep users engaged by showing new campaigns to returning visitors.
 • Scroll depth: Boost conversions by showing your banner when users scroll a certain percentage down the page.
 • Time trigger: Display your campaign to users who show a high interest in your pages or posts by spending more time on specific pages.

These are just a few popular targeting features you can start using for your banner today, but the actual list is long.

When a new user signs up, you can send those leads directly to your email service provider (ESP). This lets you automate your email marketing strategy so you can free up more time and energy on scaling your business.

These are the same tactics that Kennedy Blue used to:

 • Recover 7% of abandoning users to fill out a survey.
 • Transform 2.56% of visitors into subscribers.
 • Increase sales by 50%.

2. TrustPulse

TrustPulse is the world’s #1 social proof software. But you might be wondering, “What is a social proof notification addon doing on this list?”

While TrustPulse doesn’t give you banners in the traditional sense, it allows you to alert your site’s visitors of sales, promotions, updates, and much more in a non-intrusive way.

Here’s an example. With TrustPulse’s Action Message campaign, you can accomplish everything you would want from a WordPress banner.

That’s because these small notifications can be figured to be static messages across your site. Let’s say, you want to use a banner to get more followers on Instagram.

You can use TrustPulse to create a notification that functions the same way as a banner with a campaign that looks like this:

The message appears at the bottom of the screen, grabs the user’s attention, and encourages them to click on it. When users click on it, they’ll be redirected to your Instagram profile where they can follow you.

You can also use these notifications to redirect users to landing pages, optin forms, and much more.

That makes TrustPulse a great alternative to traditional banners, though they allow you to reach the same sales and marketing goals.

Plus, TrustPulse doesn’t require any coding skills or experience to get started. In just a few clicks, you can create all kinds of social proof notifications that function exactly as a banner message would.

Then you can build other campaigns to load your site with social proof and increase website conversions across your site.

Statistically speaking, TrustPulse has been proven to increase sales by up to 15%!

Key features:

 • Multiple campaign types
 • Non-intrusive social proof notifications
 • Codeless campaign builder
 • Customization control
 • Powerful targeting to personalize notifications for the UX

Price: This plugin starts at only $5/month.

3. Popup Maker

Popup Maker is a WordPress plugin that lets website owners create popups, modal boxes, slide-ins, and banners to boost their site’s conversion rates.

Popup Maker comes with an easy-to-use Popup Editor that allows you to build popups, banners, or other types of campaigns. You can use the editor to change a campaign’s size, position, or animation styles.

Similarly, its Conditions feature lets you target who can see your campaigns.

Popup Maker also integrates with all the major form plugins including WPFormsGravity Forms, and Contact Form 7. The integration allows you to trigger a popup when a website visitor submits a form on your website.

Key features:

 • Options to create popups, slide-ins, and banners
 • Beginner-friendly interface for easy popup creation
 • Multiple popup triggers and customization options
 • Integration with popular form plugins and email marketing services

Price: Popup Maker’s pricing starts at $99 per year per website.

4. WPFront Notification Bar

WPFront Notification Bar is another option for creating a WordPress banner for your website. This is also a free plugin but gives you a bit more features than other free tools on this list.

That’s because the WPFront Notification Bar gives you some more advanced triggers, such as:

 • Time delay
 • Scroll depth
 • Open on a button click
 • Set in a fixed or dynamic position
 • Place at the top or bottom of the browser page

These features are still more limited than premium plugins like OptinMonster. But they give you access to WordPress banners regardless of your budget.

Plus, everything is easy to customize and you can tailor the banner campaigns to match your site’s look and style. This helps you connect better with your target audience as you build your brand’s online presence.

And since you can also schedule when you want the banner to appear across your site, it’s an excellent solution for automating your online store’s sales and promotions.

Key features:

 • Customizable colors and text.
 • Interactive banners that open with a click of a button.
 • Select pages and posts where you want the banner to appear.
 • Powerful targeting rules and triggers.
 • Processes shortcodes.

Price: This is a free version of WPFront Notification’s plugin. Its Pro plans start at $49 per year per website.

5. HashBar

HashBar is a WordPress notification bar that’s great for small businesses to create real-time alerts and special offers.

It’s a free plugin (though there’s a premium version) that lets you create an unlimited number of banners for your WordPress website. It lets you add call-to-action (CTA) buttons to your banner, as well as email signup forms to grow your list.

HashBar comes with a customizable interface so that you can modify the banner’s text, colors, or background.

This tool creates banners that look great across all devices, including mobile. You can position this banner wizard where you want, configure it to reach your target audience, and use it to achieve your marketing goals.

It’s also compatible with WPBakery Page BuilderKing Composer, and Elementor.

Key features:

 • Easy to set up.
 • Highly customizable.
 • Mobile-friendly.
 • Compatible with popular page builders.
 • Campaign scheduling.

Price: This is a free plugin. Its paid version starts at $59 per website.

6. Top Bar

Top Bar is another WordPress alert banner plugin that you can use for your site.

It lets you create very simple banner bars to get users to take action. Honestly, I think it’s a little less user-friendly than other options on the list. For example, it doesn’t have as many customization options as premium plugins like OptinMonster.

However, Top Bar is an effective tool that gives you everything you need to have a WordPress banner up and running in minutes. It also supports multiple languages, lets the bar stay visible while users are scrolling, and allows you to add features like CTA buttons and custom colors/text.

Key features:

 • Multi-language support.
 • Customizable.
 • Easy to set up.
 • Free to get started.

Price: This is a free plugin with a Pro version starting at $16/year for 1 website.

Get started with Top Bar today!

7. Easy Notification Bar

Easy Notification Bar is the last WordPress banner plugin on the list but certainly not the least qualified to be here.

This plugin allows you to easily add a banner to your website to achieve your marketing goals. You can add CTA buttons, change the text, modify the colors, and much more to create the perfect floating bars for your brand.

It comes with a ‘sticky’ option that lets the bar follow users as they scroll. Also, you can add a close button to your campaigns to improve UX.

You can place the banners across your site or on specific URLs. Easy Notification Bar has a responsive design which makes its banners look great on mobile. There’s also minimal coding involved, which means there’s little impact on your site’s performance.

If you’re looking for a simple WordPress banner plugin, then Easy Notification Bar is worth checking out.

Key features:

 • Lightweight
 • SEO-friendly
 • Mobile-friendly
 • Customizable
 • Easy to set up
 • Target to pages or posts

Price: This is a free plugin.

Which Is the Best WordPress Banner Plugin?

So far, we compared 7 of the best WordPress banner plugins. But out of all the tools, there’s only 1 that stands out: OptinMonster.

Are you looking for an in-depth Klaviyo review to see if it’s the BEST email service provider (ESP) for your unique needs?

When it comes to growing an online business, email marketing is key.

It gives you direct access to a list of warm leads who are eager to engage with your brand.

The only problem? With so many ESPs on the market, it can be difficult to find the solution that will get you the biggest results in the least amount of time.

That’s why, in today’s post, we’re going to review one of the most popular ESPs on the market: Klaviyo.

More specifically, this Klaviyo review will look at the software in terms of:

 • Ease of Use
 • Flexibility
 • Automation
 • Lead Generation
 • Pricing

Feel free to use the table of contents above to navigate to the section that interests you most.

Otherwise, let’s start from the top to discover if Klaviyo is the right ESP for your business!

Klaviyo Review: Is It the Best ESP?

1. Ease of Use

When we’re talking about using new software, ease of use can be broken down into 2 categories:

 • Setup
 • Campaign design

Let’s look at how easy Klaviyo is to set up.

a) Ease of Use for the Setup

Right when you sign up, you’ll be taken through a setup wizard that guides you through the entire process.

This includes basic information about your business so Klaviyo can provide you with a better user experience (UX). This will ask you to do 3 things, including:

 • Add business details
 • Connect your platform
 • Add branding information

setup your klaviyo account

Then it will help you design and customize your email templates based on the URL you provided for your business during the registration process:

design your klaviyo templates

Finally, you’ll be prompted to choose the overall goal of your email marketing efforts. The options include:

 • Grow my audience
 • Build customer relationships
 • Earn more revenue
 • I’m just exploring

klaviyo business goals

From there, you’ll get a confirmation email to verify your account.

After that, the setup will be complete.

Overall, Klaviyo is extremely easy to get started with. It takes less than 3 minutes to sign up for an account and begin writing your first email campaign.

With that in mind, let’s see how easy it is to craft your emails.

b) Ease of Use for Writing Your First Email

Having an easy setup is great, but it won’t matter if you can’t write emails once your account is created.

Fortunately, this isn’t an issue with Klaviyo.

That’s because this ESP makes it EASY to create all of your emails for any of your marketing goals.

You can quickly build a campaign by navigating to Campaigns in the left-hand side menu.

Then simply click Create Campaign:

create a klaviyo campaign (1)

Then you’ll choose between building an SMS or Email campaign:

create a campaign with klaviyo

For emails, you’ll add a bit of basic information including the name of your campaign and who you’ll send it to.

Then you’ll be able to design the content of your email. You can add:

 • Subject line
 • Preview text
 • Sender name
 • Sender email address

Then you can choose between a drag and drop builder, text only, or HTML emails:

campaign content klaviyo

After that, you’ll be able to write your email in an intuitive editor:

write your klaviyo email

All in all, Klaviyo makes creating your first email incredibly easy.

When it comes to “ease of use,” Klaviyo gets 5/5 stars.

It’s a simple, easy-to-use software that will allow ANYONE to get started with email marketing FAST.

Next, let’s see how well Klaviyo would fit into your current marketing stack.

2. Flexibility

When you’re investing time, energy, and money in a new tool, it’s important that it fits well with the tools you’re currently working with.

And, ideally, it’ll fit with tools you want to use in the future.

The reason is simple: changing out your marketing tools is infinitely more complicated when one software is totally dependant on another.

That’s why it’s important your ESP has lots of integrations and “plays well with others.”

Klaviyo integrates nicely with loads of marketing tools, including OptinMonster.

This helps you connect Klaviyo with eCommerce platforms like:

 • Shopify
 • WooCommerce
 • BigCommerce
 • And more…

Plus, it connects with other marketing tools, like:

 • HelpScout
 • Salesforce
 • Typeform
 • And more…

klaviyo integrations for the review

At the end of the day, you’ll have all the integrations you need to build a powerful marketing stack that helps you reach your goals FASTER.

Again, when it comes to flexibility, Klaviyo is one of the best ESPs available.

Now let’s turn our attention to another key factor when choosing an email provider: automation.

3. Automation

One of the biggest qualities that you should be looking for in an ESP is automation.

By that, we simply mean how well it can automate mundane tasks and how easily you can create workflows that send pre-scheduled campaigns.

In other words, will Klaviyo let you sit back, flip on autopilot, and nurture your leads with email funnels?

For that, the answer is a resounding YES.

Klaviyo gives you everything you need to automate your entire workflow. You can quickly and easily create custom campaigns that send automated messages to your audience.

You can even segment your audiences for better results.

The term “audience segmentation” means organizing subscribers into subgroups within your Klaviyo account.

For more information on audience segmentation, check out this helpful resource: 50 Email Segmentation Tips You Need to Know.

You would organize people based on purchase history, demographics, personal interests, and more. Then you can send MORE targeted messages to your audience.

But how does this tie into Klaviyo’s automation features?

Each segment of your audience can have a tag.

This tag is then used to send automated emails to specific parts of your contact list.

Imagine creating a special offer that you KNOW a portion of your audience will love. For this example, let’s say it’s a free eBook on how to generate more leads.

Plus, you have the perfect email series to nurture new leads who receive that special offer.

When someone signs up for that eBook, they’d get a unique tag.

Then Klaviyo can send automated emails to anyone with that specific tag using your pre-written campaigns.

In the end, this transforms more of your leads into happy (and paying) customers.

But now for the real question: are these workflows difficult to set up?

Not at all.

Klaviyo even offers pre-planned workflows for:

 • Welcome series
 • Cart abandonment
 • Browser abandonment
 • Customer thanks you
 • Product cross-sells
 • Customer win-backs
 • And much more…

klaviyo custom email series templates

This gives you direct access to a “plug n’ play” solution for all of your email marketing campaigns.

All you need to do is get started, select which type of automated workflow you want to set up, and you’ll be growing your business in minutes.

Before we get to how much Klaviyo costs, let’s look at one other important factor to selecting the right ESP for your unique needs: lead generation.

4. Lead Generation

If you’ve been searching for email service providers, you might have noticed that many come with lead generation options.

Klaviyo is no exception.

This tool allows you to build popups and inline forms to:

 • Collect emails
 • Collect phone numbers
 • Make announcement
 • Nurture leads
 • And much more…

Plus, it comes with pre-made templates that you can use to get these forms on your site FAST:

klaviyo premade email templates

But here’s the question: is this the BEST way to get new leads on your list?

That answer is a little more complex than the other categories we’ve looked at. And here’s why…

Klaviyo is primarily an email service provider. That means its main role is (and has always been) allowing users to send bulk emails while ensuring high deliverability and tracking.

Its lead generation efforts are a secondary product or an added bonus.

If you’re looking for the best results, though, you should search for a software that’s primary goal is to help you generate more leads.

And the best tool on the market for that is OptinMonster:

OptinMonster home page

OptinMonster is hands down the world’s best lead generation toolkit. It allows you to build professional optin campaigns in minutes.

By “optin campaigns,” we mean something you’re already familiar with, like:

 • Popups
 • Floating bars
 • Fullscreen welcome mats
 • Spin-to-win wheels
 • Slide-in scrolls boxes
 • Inline campaigns
 • And much more…

Here’s an example of a lightbox popup built with OptinMonster in under 5 minutes:

newsletter popup demo

Plus, you don’t need any coding or “tech skills” to make anything work.

That’s because OptinMonster comes with TONS of pre-made templates that you can use to get a head start:

optinmonster templates

These save you time, energy, and headaches in the campaign creation process.

From there, you’ll have access to a drag and drop visual bulder. This lets you instantly change any text in your campaign:

inline text editor for hello bar example

Or you can add new features, such as:

 • Video
 • Images
 • Text
 • Custom HTML
 • Countdown timers
 • Dividers
 • Spacers
 • Icons
 • And so much more…

drag and drop element into basic template

But here’s why you should really consider using Klaviyo as your ESP and OptinMonster as your lead gen software:

OptinMonster has MORE advanced targeting rules which equals HIGHER conversions.

When it comes to getting people to opt into your offers, you need to present the right message to the right people at just the right time in their customer journey.

Klaviyo has some basic targeting rules but, again, that’s never been its main product.

OptinMonster gives you tons of options. Here are a few of the most popular:

 • Exit-Intent® Technology: Recover abandoning visitors and carts by presenting campaigns as visitors are actively leaving your site.
 • OnSite Retargeting®: Keep users engaged by showing fresh campaigns to returning visitors.
 • Geolocation: Personalize the user experience (UX) by showing popups to users based on their physical locations.
 • MonsterLinks™: Boost conversions by making all of your optin campaigns clickable links in any text-based content.

These are just a few examples, though there are many more.

Finally, OptinMonster seamlessly integrates with Klaviyo. That means ALL your new leads can go directly to your Klaviyo contact lists, even if you’ve already segmented your audience.

This gives you a POWERFUL combination of tools that will take your lead generation efforts to the next level.

How do we know? Because we see it happen every single day.

In fact, it’s how Crossrope exploded their email list by 900%.

Or how Human Food Bar gets 1800+ new leads each month.

Before wrapping up, let’s take one more factor into consideration for this Klaviyo review: pricing.

5. Pricing

Let’s be honest: when it comes to choosing a new tool, pricing is a big factor.

Klaviyo’s pricing is incredibly flexible, which makes it a bit hard to understand.

They’ll charge for the number of contacts on your list. You can use their pricing calculator to find out how much you’d need to pay per month:

klaviyo pricing

Here’s a breakdown of their most-used plans:

 • 250 contacts = Free
 • 500 contacts = $20
 • 1000 contacts = $30
 • 1500 contacts = $45
 • 2500 contacts = $60
 • 3000 contacts = $70
 • 3500 contacts = $80

This continues and at 10,000+ contacts, you can expect to pay $150/month.

Pricing also changes depending on whether you want SMS capabilities or not.

This can be a little pricier than other ESPs like Constant Contact or Brevo, but it’s still a very competitive pricing model.

Another benefit to Klaviyo’s pricing is that it’s flexible enough to help you scale in the future.

Are you trying to learn how to create an email marketing funnel, but you’re not sure the best place to start?

Email marketing consistently remains one of the best ways to generate revenue for online businesses.

It’s a direct line to your target audience for announcing sales, product launches, special offers, and more.

But as the marketing world has gotten more sophisticated, many business owners get intimidated by the thought of “building a funnel.”

If that’s the case, don’t worry.

Because, in today’s post, we’re going to teach you how to create an email marketing funnel in just 3 EASY steps.

Before we do, though, let’s get clear on why email marketing is such a profitable marketing channel.

Why Create an Email Marketing Funnel?

Email marketing funnels allow you to automate a self-operating system that transforms new leads into loyal customers.

This is important because, as mentioned earlier, email marketing has proven itself as a profitable marketing channel for businesses of all sizes.

There are several advantages to creating an email marketing funnel, including:

 • Improve UX by personalizing the customer journey and keeping in touch with them along the way.
 • Save Time with an automated system that generates revenue while you sleep.
 • Establish Yourself as a thought leader within your niche by creating rich email content.
 • Drive Profits in a way that educates your audiences and builds more trust with your brand.

These are just a handful of the advantages to building an email marketing funnel, though there are many others.

With these benefits in mind, let’s take a detailed look at how to create an email marketing funnel in just 3 easy steps.

How to Create an Email Marketing Funnel

Building your email marketing funnel isn’t hard, but it can feel overwhelming.

That’s why we’ve broken this article down into 3 consecutive steps:

 • Build an automated email series
 • Capture new leads on your website
 • Track the results to optimize your process

If you can accomplish the 3 steps above, you’ll have an entirely automated email marketing funnel ready to turn leads into revenue.

Ready to get started? Let’s dive into the first step.

1. Build an Automated Email Series

The first thing you’ll want to do is build an automated email series.

This is a small collection of pre-written emails that are meant to guide your new leads down a sales funnel.

The idea is simple: to create engaging email content that informs and persuades your audience to take action.

Plus, creating these email series isn’t difficult if you’re working with the right email service provider (ESP).

Here are a few that we highly recommend:

a. Constant Contact

constant contact new homepage

Constant Contact is an excellent option for businesses of all sizes. It allows anyone to quickly and easily create automated email series.

It also helps if you currently run an SMS marketing campaign (or would like to begin).

Constant Contact also has a free trial for 60 days. That means you can start building your email marketing funnel at ZERO risk.

b. Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)

Marketing Automation Tools - Brevo

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is another great choice for an ESP. It comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from an email provider, including:

 • Scheduled campaigns
 • Pre-existing templates
 • Automation
 • Audience segmentation
 • A/B testing
 • And much more…

Brevo also has a ton of other advanced marketing tools you can use for FAST growth.

Plus, this is one of the only ESPs on the market that charges you by the number of emails you send rather than the number of contacts on your list.

c. Drip

drip homepage

Drip is the last option on this list, but certainly not the least qualified to be here.

Drip is the perfect ESP for growing eCommerce businesses. It allows you to create automated emails to grow your customer base.

This ESP comes with pre-made email templates, audience segmentation, A/B testing, and much more.

If you’re looking for a tool that’s powerful but incredibly easy to use, Drip might be the right ESP for you.

But once you’ve selected the provider for your email marketing funnel, the next step is to write your email series.

For that, we highly recommend checking out this article: How to Create a Profitable Email Series.

Now let’s turn our attention to how we can get more leads into your funnel.

2. Capture New Leads on Your Website

Once you’ve created your email series, you need to send new leads through it.

After all, even the best email copy on the planet won’t convert if no one reads it!

That’s why it’s important to ensure that you’re leveraging your site’s traffic to capture as many leads as possible.

The BEST way to do that is a combination of:

 • Lead magnets
 • Optin campaigns

Lead magnets are valuable offers, products, or information that your target audience would find appealing. They’re specifically designed to attract your potential customers.

You’ve likely seen these before. They often come in the form of:

 • eBooks
 • Infographics
 • White papers
 • Webinars
 • And more…

Need some help coming up with a lead magnet? Check out this post on 69 lead magnet ideas you can start using today.

But then you can combine these lead magnets with “optin campaigns” for even more conversions.

Optin campaigns are messages that you show to your site’s traffic. It’s where you present a lead magnet in the hope of capturing your visitor’s email address.

This allows you to put them into your automated email series and move them through your sales funnel.

You’ve probably seen optin campaigns in the past, too. They look something like this:

customer.io popup demo

But now for the real question: “How can you create optin campaigns if you’re pressed for time and not super ‘tech-savvy’?”

If you want to get the MOST leads possible, the best software for that is OptinMonster:

OptinMonster home page

OptinMonster allows anyone to quickly and easily create professional optin campaigns in minutes.

It gives you more resources to capture email subscribers than any other lead generation software on the market.

Here’s how it works…

Everything starts by selecting which type of campaign you want to build. OptinMonster gives you 9 options, including:

 • Lightbox popups
 • Floating bars
 • Scroll boxes
 • Gamified wheels
 • Fullscreen welcome mats
 • Inline campaigns
 • And more…

optinmonster campaign types

From there, you can choose any of OptinMonster’s 50+ pre-built templates.

These are all designed to save you time, energy, and headaches as you create your campaign. They’re all fully responsive and mobile-friendly:

optinmonster templates

Now it’s time to design your optin campaign.

You don’t need to know ANY coding or have any professional design experience. That’s thanks to OptinMonster’s codeless drag and drop visual builder.

If you want to change any text in your campaign, for example, you can highlight it directly in the builder.

Then just make the changes you want:

change text to build scarcity

Plus, OptinMonster lets you add new features to your campaign, such as:

 • Images
 • Videos
 • Call to action (CTA) buttons
 • Dividers
 • Icons
 • And much more…

Once you find these features in your left-hand side menu, you can drag them directly into your template:

drag and drop element into basic template

And since everything comes in pre-configured Blocks, you don’t need any design experience to create beautiful campaigns.

Everything falls neatly into place by default, while still giving you the flexibility of 100% customization.

Next, you’ll need to show these campaigns to the right people, in the right places, and at just the right times in their customer journey.

For that, you can use OptinMonster’s targeting rules and triggers. Some of the more popular options include:

 • Exit-Intent® Technology: Recover abandoning visitors (and carts) by showing campaigns as users are actively leaving your website.
 • Geolocation: Personalize the user experience (UX) by targeting visitors from their physical locations.
 • OnSite Retargeting®: Keep visitors engaged by showing fresh campaigns to returning users.
 • Page-Level Targeting: Boost conversions by matching your lead magnets to the on-page content your visitors are browsing.

These are just a few examples of OptinMonster’s targeting rules, though there are many others.

In fact, these are the same rules that helped companies like Human Food Bar get over 1800 signups per month.

Or how Shotkit is able to add 40+ NEW leads every single day.

But, so far, we’ve only looked at capturing leads. What happens when people actually subscribes?

OptinMonster sends new leads directly to your ESP.

This gives you an automated email marketing funnel that can generate MORE revenue even while you’re sleeping.

Now let’s check out the last step for how to create an email marketing funnel: tracking your results.

3. Track the Results to Optimize Your Process

The last part of the process is tracking the results from your email marketing funnel.

It’s the part that most marketers struggle with, but also the one that can get you the BEST results.

Why does this matter?

Because it allows you to create data-driven strategies for getting more leads than simply “going with your gut.”

With the right analytics at your side, you can test versions of your email or optin campaigns. Then you can figure out what really resonates with your target audience.

OptinMonster, for example, allows you to run an A/B test at the click of a button:

Create Split test from your optinmonster dashboard

Plus, it comes with all of your conversion data right from your dashboard:

analytics dashboard from optinmonster

From there, you can use your ESP’s analytics dashboard to look for:

 • Open rates
 • Click-through rates
 • Conversions

With this data at your fingertips, you can continuously improve your email marketing funnel to ensure you’re never leaving ANY new leads on the table.

Understanding your conversion rates will also help you determine if you’re attracting the RIGHT audience.

If you notice conversion rates are low, you might try a new lead magnet, different optin campaigns, stronger subject lines for your emails, and more.

But you won’t know what to test if you’re not consistently tracking your funnel’s key performance indicators (KPIs).

And that’s all for today! This has been a quick and easy guide on how to create an email marketing funnel in just 3 steps.

Are you looking for the best email subscription popup plugins for WordPress, but not sure which option to choose?

Growing your email list can be tough, especially since online consumers are bombarded with offers every single day.

And yet, there’s no denying that email marketing can be one of your company’s most profitable assets.

The good news is that with the right tools, growing your list can become infinitely easier.

That’s why, in today’s post, we’re going to share 7 of the best email subscription popup plugins for WordPress.

Ready to get started? Let’s jump straight into the list.

Email Subscription Popup Plugins (WordPress)

The following tools are designed to make your lead generation efforts EASY.

That’s why, for this list, we chose plugins that are:

 • Powerful and come with all the features you’ll need,
 • Flexible and integrates with your site’s other plugins,
 • Affordable, so you don’t sacrifice one problem (lead gen) for another (cost).

With those factors in mind, let’s start with our first email subscription popup plugin.

1. OptinMonster

OptinMonster home page

OptinMonster is a premium WordPress plugin that helps you get MORE email subscribers in LESS time.

That’s because this tool lets you create a variety of “optin campaigns.” This term refers to things you’re likely already familiar with, such as:

 • Lightbox popups
 • Floating bars
 • Fullscreen welcome mats
 • Inline campaigns
 • Gamified spin-to-win wheels
 • And much more…

By giving you more variety in your campaign choices, you can build a personalized lead generation strategy.

But when it comes to making a classic email subscription popup, there’s simply no easier tool to work with.

Part of that is thanks to OptinMonster’s 50+ templates:

optinmonster templates

These templates are designed to save you time, energy, and headaches in the campaign creation process.

In fact, many OptinMonster customers choose to publish these templates without any modifications at all.

But if you do want to make changes to your campaign, you certainly can.

OptinMonster has a codeless drag and drop visual builder that gives you complete control over the look, style, and message of your campaign:

drag and drop builder

This makes it easy to add new functions to your popup, such as:

 • Images
 • Videos
 • Custom HTML
 • Dividers
 • Call to action (CTA) buttons
 • Backgrounds
 • And much more…

And to modify any of the text, you can simply use OptinMonster’s inline editor. This lets you highlight the text you want to change and make those edits directly in the builder itself:

change text in the shopping template

In short, OptinMonster gives you everything you need to create stunning and professional email subscription popups FAST.

But remember, building the popup is only half the battle.

After that, you’ll need to show your offers to the right people, in the right places, and at just the right times in their customer journey.

For that, you’ll want any of OptinMonster’s many targeting rules. Some of the more popular options include:

 • Exit-Intent® Technology: Recover abandoning visitors and carts by showing offers as people are actively leaving your site.
 • OnSite Retargeting®: Keep users engaged by showing fresh campaigns to returning visitors.
 • Geolocation: Personalize offers by targeting users based on where they’re physically located.
 • MonsterLinks™: Boost conversions by transforming your email popups into a clickable link (from a button or anchor text).

These are just a few of the targeting rules OptinMonster gives you, though there are many others.

And they’re the same kinds of rules that allowed Shotkit to grow its list with 40+ NEW leads every day.

Or how Human Food Bar is able to add 1800+ signups to their list every month.

From there, you can set your entire lead generation process on autopilot.

That’s because you’ll be able to sync OptinMonster with your email service provider (ESP).

That means when a new subscriber joins your email list, they’ll be sent to your email marketing funnel.

You can send automated campaigns to nurture the relationship and, eventually, transform that lead into a happy and paying customer.

To recap, here are some of the main reasons why over 1.2 million websites are using OptinMonster to grow their list right now:

 • Fast setup and installation
 • Variety of campaign types
 • Codeless drag and drop visual builder
 • 50+ templates to choose from
 • Integrations with 3rd-party marketing tools
 • Powerful targeting rules
 • And much more…

2. PushEngage

push engage homepage updated

You might know PushEngage as the best push notification software on the market.

So you’re probably also be wondering, “What is this tool doing on a list for email subscription popups?”

Here’s why we added this as one of the top tools to our list.

Earlier, we mentioned that it can be tough to grow your email subscribers. One of the reasons is the combination of 2 factors:

 • Some site visitors won’t feel comfortable handing over their contact information on their first visit to your site
 • And most of your first-time visitors won’t ever come back

This means you’re leaving LOTS of leads on the table every single day.

And that’s exactly where a tool like PushEngage can help through “push notifications.”

Push notifications are small popup messages that appear on your user’s browser screen even when they aren’t on your website.

Plus, you can add links to these messages and redirect users to high-converting posts or landing pages.

But here’s the real advantage: push notifications don’t require users to hand over personal contact information to subscribe.

When someone lands on your site, they simply need to click a single button to allow these notifications to appear.

As a result, subscription rates for push notifications are much higher than for email popups.

That means you can grow your push notification subscriber list faster and use that list to redirect users to an email signup landing page.

Or you can simply send subscribers to pages that tend to get the most email signups organically.

Either way, PushEngage can be a great way to unblock your lead generation strategy and will drastically help grow your email list.

And here are some of the things we KNOW you’ll love about PushEngage:

 • Set up with no coding or “tech skills” required
 • Create automated “drip” series
 • Organize your list into sub-groups (or “segments”)
 • Personalize messaging with user data
 • Recover abandoned carts
 • Schedule campaigns for future use
 • And much more…

But why not see it in action for yourself? Get started with PushEngage 100% risk-free today!

constant contact new homepage

Constant Contact is one of the most popular email providers on the market. It helps people organize their email lists and send targeted campaigns to their subscribers.

Then you can target those campaigns across your website for higher conversions.

This lets you keep all of your email marketing tools in one place, from signing up to sending email campaigns.

The only thing we should mention is that you’ll be more limited in the type of popups you can build. You also won’t have as many targeting rules as if you went with another software like OptinMonster.

That’s because, again, Constant Contact is primarily an ESP at heart.

But for people just getting started and already using Constant Contact, this is an excellent option to begin with.

 • Easy to use popup builder
 • Timing and display rules
 • Fast installation (like most plugins)
 • Audience segmentation
